This phone has potential to overclock to 2GHz once giant pune mods our kernel

Of course its possible, I got 4.2.1 running on an optimus v :)

Agreed. And if any modifying of the kernel is to take place next, I vote for init.d support from the kernel itself, modifying init.rc (so we can move past ad-hoc). giantpune told me how to do this, but I'm actually incapable of doing so at the moment - and, last I checked, so was he (but for different reasons). And, if this were to be done, my vote is on modifying the latest VM kernel - that's the latest/newest version. And it'd be nice to not have to swap out the modules :D

Maybe one of these capable and knowledgeable developers could do such a thing for us. I can't think of anything that would make the wait for CM easier than a stock kernel modified with a faster overclock, init.d support, and maybe SoftAP or another infrastructure WiFi method.

A faster overclock isn't necessary, but I'm all for the rest of that :)

I couldn't agree more. My current device has the same specs as yours. I can over clock to 1.8fhz safely. Just cause I can doesn't mean I do it. I only oc to 1.4ghz. Changing the governor n schedueler are what's needed. 1.4ghz smartassv2 and sio make my phone fast n smooth

Let's see what seller 86 can do and giant pune might be the only one who can get work done with kernels, I have an Amazon refund coming to me I'm Down to send some funds to the way of developers of this optimus community. It sucks the optimus one line can get up to jelly bean but the elites are stuck on gb. That's why I thank the developers or we'd have stock nothing lol

A wifi hotspot would be cool maybe we can bribe a developer from another thread for some knowledge. Get this thing on jelly bean 4.2 like its 600mhz predecessor lol

Dude, you need to put the brakes on for a moment, you're going to really annoy developers around here.

....like try to figure out how to do things if you want to see them done and have the resources. I do and I don't even have near the resources to totally dive into development

Sorry I didn't see that post but man you're our only hope

Only hope? For what, busting our phones? 1.6ghz is high enough for a single core. If you want higher then buy a higher end phone. 1.9 is too high and he's mentioned at least a 100 times that 1.6is the highest stable frequency for this phone. There isn't any "only hope stuff. He's made it pretty easy SNF clear on how someone else can make the modifications to the kernel themselves. But even then you're just gonna crash the phone and use it as a baseball after that. :)

I was the one that said that we might be able to push the barrier on the oc. And this is a HUGE maybe, like 0.2% chance.
Especially since the elite's experienced kernel developer said no.
The only thing different in the kernel department is experience with 4 different phones with the msm8655.
I will not say it will happen all, on top of this, I will not be allowing outside testers until I prove on my own its stable.

Just stop posting.

I, along with many other people would love to have CMXX running on the OE. Do what the rest of us do. Sit back, enjoy the great Sleipnir ROM Artine has provided for us, and let the developers do their work. When they have something they will post it for us to try out.

Face it, it's possible nothing other then Gingerbread might run on the OE. If you need ICE or Jellybean that bad; get a phone that has it pre-installed on.....

Thanks to everyone working on the phone for us, keep up the great work. :thumb:

The same thing was said about my device. It takes time
