Help Device memory full

kobi1988

Newbie
Hello everyone.

My device memory is devided into 3 sections:
Total space - 1.97GB
Applications - 453MB
Available - 203MB

As you can guess, I can hardly install new apps...

Everything I try to delete seems to be located on the SD card, thus it doesn't affect the device memory.

How can I clear some space in it??

Thanks,
Kobi.

Go to Settings/Storage/All and select "Sort by size" from the menu. Work your way down the list, opening each app's entry and selecting "clear cache". You should find that this recovers a useful chunk of space.

I've done it already a few time... It cleared 100MB max from the Applications section.
Pay attention that there are like 1.4 GB that are hidden somewhere not in the applications... I also cleared "download" folder... I have no other ideas anymore.

UnknownFirmware - this app helped me clean the following:

133.75MB of caches
Residual files - 24.21MB

However, these are not part of the device memory, but the SD card..

Maybe it has anything to do with Whatsapp? I'm not sure because last time I deleted my videos and photos of this app I found out they were also stored on the SD card..

Using an advanced app such as root explorer or es file manager you can find hidden files and stuff and delete them but I don't know if these forums allow me to post the apk if they do I'd be happy to give you root explorer pro

You can send me a private message :)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure there has to be a "legal" way to do it. In the beginning I really thought I had many apps, but now I have around 6-7... Something is really messed up with this operating system..

Using a root explorer, look in the /data/log folder. See if any log files are ridiculously huge and delete them.

You will have to mount the system as R/W to delete a system file.

P.S. I believe posting paid versions of apps is against the forum rules. You should give a link to the Playstore instead.
And you don't need the Pro version of Root Explorer for this. The free version should work just fine. :)

I downloaded Root Brwoser. the data folder and the caches are compeltely empty...
I didnt run into other big files, all are small system files.. :/
