Help DHD reboots at random

The title says it all really, I'm getting random reboots with no discernable cause, maybe in the region of 1-2 a day. Also, Sense (the HTC UI layer, not the website) seems to crash quite a lot too, again about once per day.

Anyone else had the same problem? I'm considering just sending the phone back to 3 for a replacement but I'd love it if there was a fix...

I'm unrooted, running the latest HTC update and a fair few apps, one of which is tasker.

Mine has started randomly rebooting since I updated to 2.2.1

It will be sat on my desk in standby, suddenly make the startup noise and be prompting me for my PIN.

This latest update has broken quite a few things for me, things that were fine before, so I'm just waiting on either 2.3 or a 2nd update to fix 2.2.1

yeah this happened to me for the first three days of the recent update. fine now though. it seemed to happen when i was texting. i decided to not use the standard text app and get go sms. maybe that fixed it who knows

Going to sound daft.

Remove the battery.

Remove the sim card and memory card. Wait a minute.

Put memory card back in and battery..startup...shutdown.

Remove battery and then put back in sim card, and start back up..should be fine again..crazy I know, but worked with my old phones and did with this one too.

doesnt sound daft. i did a hard reset as well, so maybe it was the reset that fixed mine and not the new messaging app. either way mines ok now.

HTC Customer services told me to simply pull out the battery while the phone is still turned on.

It hasn't restarted itself since

mine was fine for 8 odd weeks and i have had 4 reboots in the last couple od days. i shall try the suggested remedies and report back...

Yeah, mine stopped rebooting for a week, but has started doing it again. Luckily its only once every few days compared to a few times a day

Prior to the update i had a similar problem, indeed at one point it had difficulty even lasting through the boot process before deciding it needed to reboot itself!

FWIW i found the 'pull everything to bits, blow on all the contacts...and then put it back together' did actually fix it (oh and i disabled fast boot while i was tinkering...which may be relevant)

My only guess would be there were temporary files or processes which survived the crash and still caused problems after the phone restarted itself.

I bought a 2nd hand Desire HD ... the issue is after 10-12 hours it resets. and the reset scenario is like this:

the phone just doesn't reboot out of the blue. It freezes first, mostly when connecting/disconnecting USB or running an app or just playing in Sense shell. It has never once rebooted while I was playing a game or reading/writing mail, etc. Only when I was in Sense. The phone would freeze, not react to touches on screen. Only live wallpaper would continue to move. hard buttons would react (vibrate) but do nothing, and after a while (cca 1-1.30 minute) the phone would reboot. After reboot, the time shown in since last reboot wouldn't change, so it didn't know it rebooted. strange.

I have added paper behind sim, behind battery....
Right now what i am doin is i RESET it my self after 8-10 hours .. and the next 8-10 hours go smoooth :D ...
So any ideas?? what seems to be the issue here hardware or software??
Any suggestions.
THANKS
