I just unlocked my bootloader and rooted my phone today and everything was fine until i tried to flash a ROM it was JellyBAM 7.0.0. after i flashed my phone restarted to a black screen now i can only access boot loader and TWRP when i try to factory reset it fails

is there anything i can do to fix this, im sorry if i sound like a noob im new to doing all thisi probably should have done more research.

welcome to AF!!!!!!!
yes that is the issue. are you up to date with firmware? was your phone on the latest ota before you rooted?

if so then yes you can only flash JB sense roms. aosp roms will require s-off.

Yes im pretty sure it was updated to the newest OTA, now can you explain what i have to do to get my device back up and running because im really confused, i mounted my internal card to have a look and the only folders in there are android secure and twrp. How do i restore my device back to stock

My phone is the HTC Evo 4G lte

ok so go here: http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-lte-all-things-root/614073-list-utilities-roms-kernels.html and go to the shipped roms section then find the stock rooted roms of your choice.

1. download the file
2. move it to the sd card(if you have recovery you can use the mount usb option)
3. wipe dalvik cache, cache, data, system
4. select install .zip on the main menu of twrp
5. flash the file.

also before you tried the rom you should have made a nandroid backup. if you did not then going forward always do this before you flashing or mess with your rom. this way, if anything bad was to happen like now, you can just nandroid restore back with no issue.

Yes that is where i got it from what can i do now? i made a backup but i deleted everything from my sd so basically there is nothing in it. also i tried one of those roms[jewel-3.15.651.6-rooted-odexed.zip] not sure if i downloaded the wrong one or what but i tried installing it it said successful but it said in the log error kernall not installed, also in TWRP when i go to reboot system it says "no OS installed are your sure you wish to reboot?"

btw here is the infor in my bootloader if that helps any

JEWEL PUT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT 2.09.0000
RADIO 1.12.11.1210
OpenDSP-v31.1.0.45.0815
eMMC-boot

Am i doing something wrong? i dropped the zip file on my internal SD, then i go to install click the zip and it starts installing but i look at the logs and it says

"installing.........
checking for md5 file.....no md5 file found
done
updating partition details"

Then it says successful but it still says i have no OS, anything im missing?

Yes i can get into TWRP, but factory reset doesnt work.

By the way i think it would help me if you tell me what i need to do step by step because i am a little confused.
no, you have to do more then just factory reset...so as long as you have recovery follow my steps. you also need to wipe dalvik cache, cache, factory reset/data, and system then re-flash the rom

you can get the .zip to the sd card by either the mount usb option in recovery or you can use a card reader.

May I suggest checking the TWRP version, and maybe even reflashing it if necessary?

For one, it couldn't hurt to know we have a clean slate and aren't chasing ghosts and for two - well because of for one. :p

Sounds like TWRP is being used to move the zip to the internal sd card, so I thought I'd chime that in.

ok i did not see your edit......yeah maybe like early has said maybe try and re-install twrp and try flashing it again.

So, here's what we're asking -

Install latest TWRP.

Move zip to your phone again (so we can trust the transfer).

Follow ocn's steps above.

Hang in there, we've all white knuckled a few from a bad flash. It's frustrating, but it's going to be ok. :)

Ok, i dont mean to ask way to many questions :p but how do i update TWRP since i can only access bootloader and my current TWRP.

Edit:Also here is a SS of what pops up when i mount my SD.

ask away...no such thing as too many here.

best thing to do is go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-lte...g-dummies-guide-racun-babyracun-unlocked.html
and go to the HTCdev Unlocking Methods{S-ON} section and then option 2 and find step 2 how to get recovery for directions....just substitute twrp 2.5 instead of the one in the guide.

WOW thank you so much! i got it back working with twrp 2.5!!! :D
i cant thank you guys enough i was close to throwing in the towel and taking it to the store took me 5 hours but i fixed it :p

My only other request would be could you link my some roms that are compatible so i dont ever have to go through this terror again?
