Root Did I reset, format incorrectly?

I went into recovery and for some reason I:

1) wiped data
2) wiped cache
3) formatted sdcard
4) formatted data
5) formatted cache
6) formatted system

basically, I went on a wiping spree (low hanging fruit).

Now, when I boot up the phone, it stays on the white HTC boot up image (white with green HTC logo) and won't go further. What'd I do and is it fixable?

Did you flash a ROM?

You pretty much wiped your phone of everything, so you'll need to load a ROM to the SD, boot back into recovery and install it.

Don't format your SD unless you're no longer using it, selling it, or moving it to another device permanently.

Right now your phone has no OS to run, which is why its hanging. There's nothing for it to load.

Maybe do a little reading in the meantime as well.

Formatting pretty much=erasing. What, exactly, we're you trying to do?

i agree... what were you trying to accomplish?

normal wiping before flashing a new rom is simply:

wipe data/factory reset ,wipe cache,wipe dalvik cache

some rom developers will also reccomend to format /boot and format /system. check individual roms for these directions.
