Kit Kat was nothing special and potentially would just screw stuff up? Oh no but we just had to have it. Sometimes leaving well enough alone is quite fine :)
Yeah but just some old geezer than has never seen change, right? I laugh...

Cars, skis, the invention of motocross bikes and all their changes, fuel injection, prop to jet airplanes. Sometimes change is good and sometimes you just see something bad coming....like cars of the 70's. Oh gees, they sucked big time!

Kit Kat? Oh you mean the reason I froze the updater app. I'm still running rooted 4.3 with Safestrap 3.72 on my AT&T Note 3, and I don't see any reason to update (or would that be a downdate?) What would I gain? Oh, yea - minus root and minus Safestrap slots. If Samsung and Google keep going like this, I'll be running 4.3 until I die (about 20 years if I'm really lucky).

I'd like to know how to freeze that too. Is kit kat the latest update?

"Freezing" an app is an option within Titanium Backup, a paid app that requires your device to be rooted to fully function. KitKat is the latest update for the Motorola XT907, aka the RazrM.

bigbadwulff, I feel your pain. I heard a long long long time ago that "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", there's always that stinking learning curve because stuff gets changed and/or moved. I also believe that this update to KitKat for the XT907 was rolled out poorly. The updater should have had a means to backup personal data, do a factory data reset, install, then restore the personal data.
