Root differences between Froyo and Gingerbread?

how much different is Gingerbread from Froyo anyway? I have an OV running Android 2.2, and I'm thinking about getting my wife a Slider for Yule this year. She really likes the keyboard, hates Swype, and I want to know how much of a technical support headache I'm setting myself up for before I actually do it.

The changes shouldn't be visibly much different. Most of the changes are internal. It runs a smooth as froyo

Be sure to check the slider forums, Gingerbread on the OV (aka CM7) runs great, and the only support you may have to give her is learning the new options available in the settings menu. Other than extra settings, you wont have to help her with much. For a non-techie, the changes are non-invasive, and she should just be able to use it fine.

I should have mentioned that this would be her first experience with a smartphone, as opposed to using mine on occasion. Regardless, thank you for the information.
