I have flash on my GNex running JB. My understanding was as long as you grabbed it before 8/15 ?
I tried sideloading Flash on my Nexus 7. That part works fine. What doesn't work is finding a browser that accepts it.
I'm really steamed DolphinHD had to push an update that killed Flash support on Jellybean. I mean, why...? Deactivate it by default but don't kill it. You just push me away from using your browser.
So I tried Firefox beta (aka Aurora). Trouble is it keeps asking me to "install plug-in". Um hello, Flash Player 11 is installed. I followed all the directions on xda-developers. Still not working.
On the other hand, I did get my ICS Galaxy S3 working by the xda-dev fix.
The problem here is Amazon Instant Video. I have work arounds for most of the other video sites I visit. But Amazon needs to step up to the plate. Otherwise they push me to get my content at Google Play (or that grey market). Ideally I want to see an AIV apk in the Play store available to all Android users and not just Kindle Fire. Heck, I'll take an APK in the Amazon App Store. The question is just how much does Amazon want my future money for video content?
It's very frustrating. I came from the iTunes world when I learned the merits of cloud video streaming vs local storage. Amazon won me over last year with their video store. Being able to play on my computer, mobile devices or Roku box nailed it. Now it seems they've taken a step backward. Evolve or die Amazon. (And yeah I know all about the "grey market". It's been my fallback ever since Doctor Who debuted in the UK in 2005 and no American TV channel was ballsy enough to lease it. As much as I love the ease of use ::cough::no DRM::cough::, I prefer to support my favorite shows with paid subscriptions. The rest I wait till they hit Netflix.)
