Dinc's on back order are now able to purchase the Driod X instead

Straight from the mouth of a CSR two minutes ago, if you are waiting for your Dinc (and are on back order) you are now able to choose the Driod X instead and get it on the 15th :)

Just thought I'd throw that out there, I'm not quite sure if i'm going with the Driod X yet, I just wanted to inform the masses.

He read it from his bulletin of information it sounded like.
 
I spoke the CSR. What he told me was that they were waiving restocking fees for the incredible if you have not activated/opened/touched/etc the phone so you could return it for a droid x since both are probably same price (they don't know retail price yet i think)
 
that'd be a good deal too, only thing is, i have a private sale coupon ($50) that expires on June 30th!!

GRRR I wonder if they could do something about that.
 
Also have to keep in mind that we don't know THAT much about the DroidX. Look at the iPhone 4, total flop launch. Sure it sold a bunch of units, but that thing has some problems.
 
I called CS on Friday and I was able to cancel my order for the DInc. I could not order the Droid X because VZW is not taking pre-orders. I will just wait until July 15th to get the Droid X.

Everyone phone will have its problems. If you think that the iPhone 4 was a total flop launch, then the Incredible and EVO were too. There is also a wealth of information on the Droid X over at the Droid X forum.
 
Great. I'm really frustrated by this. i can certainly understand verizon doing the right thing by its customers. And I can certainly understand people being frustrated by the wait. But this is gonna kill di market share, which means I've bought an orphan phone. They were already taking forever to come out with any accessories, now they'll take even longer.

I hear you and that's one of the main reasons I'm taking advantage of my 30 day trial and returning my DI on Monday on Day 30 and I'll wait for he X. Clearly, Verizon is 1000% behind the DX at this point.

They must be furious with HTC over the production problems.
 
This is horrible news, people are going to want the newest phone on the market, even though our Inc is better!!! Hopefully it still sells a shit ton that way we have good development on it. Come on HTC sell them droids!!!

time to start making my own freaking dock out of freaking legos. :mad:
 
I looked at the specs on the Droid X and it just doesn't seem that much better to me. Granted I'm not a hardcore power user and I admit it. However, it seems the only things the Droid X can do that the DInc can't is the following:

Record HD video - I'm told the fps on this feature is so bad that it's not really worth using and you might as well just grab a video camera if this is important to you.

Bigger screen - I can see this as a plus.

Better battery life

It's heavier than the DInc and bigger as well

So for me the only really compelling reasons to upgrade might be the battery life. I don't think I would want a phone much bigger than my DInc though.
 
I get my Incredible in the next week or two, I'll definitely go to Verizon to check out the Droid X, but after seeing the EVO, I have a strong feeling that I will be more satisfied with the smaller size. It is in my best interest to use a case, and I guarantee I'd need a satchel (purse) to carry the DX in an Otterbox.

The Inc is better? I can't see where other than for people who want smaller screen size.
