The beats.apk you have installed might very well be your problem. I've used AwesomeBeats V5 on several AOSP based ROM's including this one and the sound is excellent.

I'm on the evervolv 4/11 nightly ATM but not sure if I would use that anyway since I do most of my texting on Google Voice.

Ok.. I successfully downloaded 1.7.1 (meaning I have MMS temporarily working both ways) and I had my GF text me, and all I see is that standard notification icon... I want to see the breathing sms notification.. Do I need to go some place in settings to get that going?
 
I've tried both the ramjet mirror and the direct link from team dirt link for DU 1.7.2. Flashed like all other versions steps. Says bad file and aborts process. Any tips or help???

I think it was a partial upload since 1.7.2 is about 4MB smaller than 1.7.1. I checked the MD5 when I uploaded the mirror and it matched goo.im but I couldn't install the zip file either.

Just stay with 1.7.1, which can be downloaded from mazda's goo.im folder until he gets a chance to fix 1.7.2.

The upload on goo.im for 1.7.2 has been fixed and the updated mirror should be available shortly.

thanks ramjet73 and Mazda....this 1.7.2 works when flashed. Thanks for all the efforts you make doing this rom, on your free time. A great jellybean rom on my HTC EVO 4G. Kudo's to you both:):):)

Could someone help me with flashing this ROM? I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, I am just completely flustered with all this rooting stuff right now. I just got my phone a couple days ago and wanted to get this all done before I bothered to put my stuff back on it but I have been struggling quite a bit. I am very much a noob with all of this so I am sure there is just something stupid going on.

I completed remanifest's guide (http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/695161-s-off-root-fix-everything-all-in-one.html) yesterday. I have not done anything else to my phone after completing it. I downloaded the ROM, kernel, and GAPPS to my SD card. I went into recovery and wiped cache + dalvik cache and did the factory reset. When I try to install the the ROM I get this:

You need a bootloader version lower than 1.57 to flash and boot GB and AOSP ROM. If you completed remanifest's guide correctly you should have hboot 1.50.5050 so you might want to go back and check the steps you did.

Sorry for being out of the loop but does anyone know of an option for the screen to wake when you receive a text? I have scoured the settings to no avail until I finally installed SMS WakeUp. I'd rather use a built in setting but this is a good work around.

Seriously though, this is one filthy rom.

Disclaimer: I have not read every post on the mirrored site sorry!
 
Is there anyway to keep the original messaging apk so I can have all of the original setting or is the only way to have working mms is to flash the vvm and mms fix?
 
Can anybody point me to the flash able zip for photosphere? I had it on my laptop but then Ubuntu borked out on me. I wonder why its not in this ROM but I actually like using it and plus my gf Is graduating from high school in June so I'm probably gonna need it.

Here's a video for installing and using it with a link for the flashable version that I've installed (4.2Camera_t04.zip) and here's a good guide for using it.

I'd like to know this too. When flashing the MMS fix for VM I lose softbank emojis as well a few other things.
 
So I flashed g60's MMS fix with VVM included and that one had a few more settings than the standard one I flash(without the VVM). Now I have regular emojis instead of the crappy android ones including a few other settings. Still no breathing SMS notification like in a clean DU install.
