Root Disable Boot Animatio

Is there anyway to disable it? Like for instance not the splash screen but the one that shows the android logo and custom animations? Ive tried everything. Nothing works for me :( Any ideas??? I used Root Tools to give it a shot. It reverted me to the android logo.. Does anyone know how to disable this? Like in build.prop? I just need to know :D

you know i have seen videos of the boot process without the animation.. but i do know that the android logo animation is built into the code.. can probably find it somewhere and delete it.. after watching android compile numerous times.. it is somehwere.. lol might have to look into it.. lol... actually if i remember correctly.. even if you disable the tron like boot screen.. you still get the android text animation.. but im digging through the contents of my phone lookin for it lol

in cm7 settings on bobs rom theres a box that when checked will disable boot animation. settings> cyanogenmod settings> performance sttings> disable boot animation

There's this neat article on other boot animations. I'm sure some of these will work just fine on the Optimus M, if not all.

How To Change, Customize & Create Android Boot Animation [Guide]

I did want to ask, a few months back on reppards ROM I was able to get rid of the bootanimation and show the linux booting process text display. It was very neat to watch but I can't seem to find how to do that again. I know it wasn't just deleting the bootanimation.zip, it took doing something in Terminal. Can't find the article or thread though. If someone knows could you please post?

they have an app by chainfire in the market called [root] live dmesg and
[root] live logcat. this might be what your looking for. i love these two apps and they work really well together.

Thanks guys. Sure enough that was it exactly. Chainfire's [root] live dmesg. I may consider buying the paid version just to remove the copyright notice. I wonder if there's a way of doing the same thing outside of an app though.

i was under the impression that the boot animation was just something cool to look at while your phone is getting its shit together lol. so would disabling the boot animation cut down the start time OR just leave you waiting for the water to boil and not having something cool to look at while your phone starts up? lol

I find the boot animation delays it by a couple of seconds so the phone has enough time to load up essential services like mounting SD before it gives you the lock screen. When I disable the animation it gets to the screen faster but I then have to wait a little for SD to mount and for all homescreen widgets to load.

so basically you have to choose your poison there...you either wait for the boot animation or wait for your sd to mount and your widgets to load...i choose boot animation any day lol
