Help Disable mp3 autoplay when connected via bluetooth?

I tried searching but came up empty.

How do I disable the music autoplay when connecting via bluetooth? I have a handsfree setup in my car, but when it connects via bluetooth it will autoplay my music and ringtones which is quite annoying.

Rooted EVO using unrEVOked 3.21

what are you using for your music app? and what version ROM or version of android are you on?

I had issues with this with 2.1 but it was resolved with the 2.2 enhancements

No music app (using default one). No other rom installed, just rooted using unrEVOked 3.21. Android v2.2

I thought there was a way to turn this off in the menu settings ...let me check it out

After hours of searching, I found an answer to this and thought I'd add it for future searchers.

1. Go to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Bluetooth Settings
2. Hold your finger over the bluetooth device that's causing the issue for a couple of seconds
3. Hit options in the pop-up menu
4. De-select the Media checkbox.

There you go.

Thanks for sharing this info. It was driving me nuts not knowing how to stop the media connection each and every time. :D

Disabling the media connection doesn't help if you want to use the car bluetooth to play media, just not the default player. I like to listen to podcasts while I am driving, but as soon as the phone connects (or after a phone call), the media player will begin playing, often over the top of the podcast I am trying to listen to.

So there I am driving down the freeway, trying to mess with my phone to stop the media player.

Dangerous and very irritating!
