Is there a way to delete or disable htc sense? I want to see the android launcher... I'm on 2.1 official rooted. Thanks.

you can go into your applications list under settings and remove the default from Sense and then when you hit the home key it will ask you what you would like to use.
I personally like using Home Switcher, as I am currently running ADW Launcher, and also have sense and launcher pro. Home switcher is a small and very easy to use ap that lets you switch home launchers without changing defaults (or you can change them if you wish).

Menu>Settings>applications>Manage Applications
Find HTC Sense and select it. Then choose clear defaults. Now when you press the Home button you will be able to select which launcher you want to use.
I recommend trying LauncherPro and AWD. Both are in the market. Be sure to download them before you do the above steps if you want to try them, as they will do it for you when installed

.I see you said you are running the official 2.1 but rooted. Technically you should be able to clear your default of HTC Sense like I described. Your other option by default it likely Home. That is a different launcher.
If you were to actually download LauncherPro or AWD as I suggested, it would most certainly disable HTC sense as neither of those use them....

+1 for Home Switcher. Makes the process of trying out different home replacements a little more user friendly.

You should just be able to search for ADW.
The actual name is ADW.LAUNCHER and it's made by AnderWeb.
Also be sure to check out their website, it's very helpful in reading what the updates have added/fixed and how to best use the features of the launcher. It has so many features you can get lost in them!

I don't have the option to clear defaults. It's greyed out. Anything else just restarts sense-it seems

Did you install a different launcher? If not, you may not have the option to clear defaults.
Think of it this way; In computer terms, you have files that open with default programs right? Well, same concept here. Your default launcher is HTC Sense. If you install a different launcher, you can no choose which to use by default.

so i have to install a third party launcher, then i can clear defaults on htc sense and use the stock android launcher??
but i dont want to install a program to have to make that happen. thank you in advance

Yup. If you want to "disable" or not use sense, you need to use a different launcher. You can download them from the market as already mentioned. Otherwise, you can not just simply "disable" sense.

Just an FYI, you can set Launcher Pro up with dots (not sure if it's a new thing but I found it yesterday) I haven't tried ADWlauncher but I'm really, really liking Launcher Pro.
Home switcher is also where it's at.

i haven't updated my launcher pro. im still on the version that is already included on the fresh 2.1.2 rom. i updated it once but then it started to show up on my advance task killer so i wiped and reflashed the whole rom to get rid of it. i wish it was easier to revert back to a previous version. if i knew launcher pro can have those dots on the side i probably would have stuck with it. o wells. adw launcher is good too. i still got both on my phone.
