Root {DISCONTINUED}MegaTron 6.2.5 (Updated 7/13/13)

yeah im sure in time i will. i'm just in the tweaking mood.

anything in xaelith's theming guide that we could use?

Not as of yet. Unfortunately the themeing kitchen is not putting the files together the right way and is causing errors. Not just this rom but all roms.

yeah did see that. which one should i use?

There's a "colors.xml" in the "values" folder of the framework-res. In it are several lines having to do with text. Change them to the hex notation of the color of your choice, and that's it.

looks like changing TextAppearance hex code in values\styles.xml changes the text color for that menu and ive tried some other apps and everything looks good

edit: nevermind

had to do a restore at work b/c battery was loosing 2 percent an hour and tried to re-do what i did above when i got but didn't work. i did change something in color.xml before that but don't remember which one i changed.

anyone working on a black and white theme? =P

I downloaded Camera ICS+ for a dollar I think, but now the side button has no effect. My apps menu shows both camera and ICS camera. Is there anyway to control which app the side right button controls? It would be nice to launch voice recorder, for instance. Did not see it anywhere in settings.

Thanks for the ROM! I have been using it since 5.

Also, is there a list of programs/processes that are part of the ROM that you could furnish? I have sprint updater, but I also downloaded some programs off the market that were bundled with trash. I uninstalled but want to ensure that I do not have any process running that is an unknown... Also, I do not know what Titanium may have put back by accident...

Thanks for all the work. This ROM rocks.

The ICS camera does not work well with the ultra when it comes to pressing the dedicated camera button to launch the app. It crashes your launcher and restarts it instead.
Im not sure if a voice recorder app was available in stock rom but if it was its bloatware and you can easily find the same app or something close in the play store.

Anything installed from the market stays in the data partition. So your fine, as long as the app in uninstall, all of its processes are uninstalled as well.

First of all wanted to say thank you, absolutely loving 6.1.0. The only issue I'm encountering (and I've searched around to see if anyone else has reported it first) is that Netflix no longer streams, just hangs and loads infinitely after selecting what to watch. Any ideas? Have tried all the usual uninstalling/reinstalling/clearing data/hard reboots/ battery pulls/etc. Thanks!

Don't believe anybody has reported that issue. I know it does work for me.

Going back to the process info, I ran an antispyware app on the phone and found the following 4 alerts. Can you confirm that the either the threats are invalid or that they have found their way onto my system?
1) Systeminfo (android.samsung.Systeminfo) Install date 8/1/2008 8:00AM
-Runs on Device startup,
-Records Audio on Voice Calls
- Knows location by GPS signal
2) Camera (com.android.camera) Install date 8/1/2008 8:00AM
-Runs on Device startup,
-Records Audio on Voice Calls
-Knows location by GPS signal
-Reads all SMS messages
3) Factory Test (com.android.samsungtest.FactoryTest Install date 8/1/2008 8am
-Reads all SMS messages
-Runs on Device startup
4) com.samsung.internal Install date 8/1/2008 8:00 am
-Receives all SMS messages
-Runs on Device startup

Also I have com.android.samsungtest which seems similar to the factory test mentioned above

Also while I have OTA updater I also have System Updates (com.samsung) and Sprint Installer (com.sprint.ce.updater) Should I have all of the updaters?

Wondering whether these are false positives, whether during my Titanuium selective restore I added them, or if I got slipped a biscuit over the air...

Appreciate your enlightening me. My job makes me vulnerable to hacks and I am required by law to maintain data security, so if you could help me with these I would appreciate it. About to go back to an old flip phone, but I love your OS and my Droid...

Those are all system applications that are required for the phone to run even on stock, trust me no threats here at all. Leave the both OTA updaters alone, it will all notify us of ROM or stock Sprint/Boost Ota's.

My wifi goes off after a certain amount of time, is there anyway to fix this? To turn off it?

I'm guessing you mean to turn off the wifi turning off automatically, yes? If so, is it turning off when the screen is off?

And if that's the case, from the home screen, press the Menu key, select "Settings > Wi-Fi", press the Menu key again, select "Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy", and make sure it's set to ""Never".

If this doesn't help, then please give more details, particularly when the wifi is turning itself off, how long it stays on before turning itself back off, what you do to turn it back on, if you notice it turn itself off when launching any particular apps, ...stuff like that.

On a related note, I've been having a problem lately where my GPS runs constantly unless I turn it off, and is draining the battery like crazy. I won't deny that it might be an app I installed, but all of the apps I have on my phone now were on the phone while using 6.0.4 with no issues.

I don't remember what happened exactly around the time it started, but I was trying to unlock my phone for some reason. When I did, several of my apps were missing from the home screens as if I had removed the SD card with the phone still on. After several attempts of recreating mount scripts and rebooting the phone, I finally got most everything to load correctly, but I still had to re-download a few apps.

As I said, I'm hoping it's coincidence that it started happening on the update, and is more of an ID-10-T user error, but any suggestions on what would cause the GPS to go haywire all the sudden?

Hi, I just installed this after getting a defective phone... Its my old transform ultra phone, im flashed the rom and everything but im missing the Talk app or google talk on my phone everything else seems to work fine. I already followed the instructions on the deleted apps and put the "Talk2" app i dont know if that was the right one. I cant seem to find it either on the market any ideas?

was able to change the color confirmation buttons(ok/cancel/Turn on USB storage, etc.) by changing TextColor under Widget.Button in res\values\styles.xml.

Thanks ill try this one and see how it goes i was just thinking about just adding the talk2 from the removed apps to the original megatron zip and reflash the rom. Has any body tried that?

You don't have to reflash the rom, just take the apk you need and add it to /system/apps and reboot. Of course you need a root explorer app.
