My 6.2.5 install has a problem transitioning from wifi to 3g. Once wifi disconnects, the 3g connection isn't usable.

Unlike stock, the 3g icon on this ROM stays on all the time. I can get connectivity back by manually resetting/toggling 3g.

I tried installing apps that purport to fix this problem, but none of them will stay running long enough to make them useful (android kills them after exiting).

Anyone else experience wifi->3g transition problems?

I've had this transition issue since MegaTron 6.0.0. Putting up with it and manually toggling data off then back on when away from wifi is a small price to pay for an otherwise awesome ROM.
 
My phone has been slower than shit of late.

Been looking at Megatron but never got round to it. I know it's a ROM but is it likely to breathe new life into my phone? Curious before I look at flashing it.

A quick and dirty work around could be to use an app like tasker (or llama for free) to use the condition of disconnect from wifi causes 3g to toggle off wait 5 seconds and then toggle back on.

To be honest, just factory resetting it will probably speed it back up to snuff but megatron will add lots of new features you'll suddenly realize you can't live without..
 
Thanks Loota... I know factory reset would speed it up, just fancying a change on my phone (ideally it would be of phones but finances.. bleh) I'll give megatron a go at the weekend I think
 
Ok, so I installed it, and yeah it seems pretty slick.



Was an issue with it taking 6 rings to even ring my phone once... turns out thats magic jack being crap so no worries there
 
OTA update for Megatron? Are you serious! That's some kind of awesome right there. 2.3.5 out of beta now then? I'm on a sprint phone
 
Unable to set my mmsc to the right one for my carrier.
Flashing the SPRINT rom set that to boost?????
When I change it, it's like it doesn't save.

You can not change the mmsc to reflect the right carrier and have it save. It has to do with the outstanding programming chev and mav have done for this device. It really doesn't matter as boost works off sprint. You will be fine.
 
Not fine... mms messages do not send.

Just checked with CTMod and I am able to change the mmsc there to the one I need for it to work.

I am on Ting, an mvno running on the sprint network, they do not even use sprint's mmsc.
Shame cause I like what I see in Megatron.
Just am unable to back out of that mmsc screen and save the change from the boost address.

change it and reboot, if that doesnt stick download a 3rd party messging app such as go sms and you'll be able to set the carrier info from there.
 
Just for use in that app or for the phone in general? Haven't been using 3rd party sms because I haven't found one i like much.

Have rebooted several times, the change never sticks.
Back button after making the change does nothing, only home closes it and then when you dial ##3282# it takes you right back to MMSC with the changes not kept.

If voice dialer was installed on this device could you just voice dial "Open Apn's" and tap on all menus and change all mmsc settings to whatever is needed?
Just throwing ideas out. Just thinking that's all.

OK. I will test then this weekend. I believe I still have the stock files somewhere. I'll just have to hijack daughters tu since I no longer have device. I'll report back. If there is a real need for it. Either way I'll still test.
 
Is there any reason my ringtones dont work anymore? They all say "this media type is not supported." Mp3 ringtones only. Music works, though *Edit* they also worked on 6.1.1 but when i updated, they just stopped. I even reinstalled them to /system/media and STILL nothing. I can select, but it doesn't sample. So i know its there. HELP. I'm missing calls

It might be that weird bug that happens with playing music files too.. try downloading winamp, playing the songs in question with winamp and then resetting them as the ringtone. It's a weird bug that's happened ever since the first ota.. intermittently mp3s just won't play and then you play them with winamp and they work fine again.. happens even on stock sometimes..

I have never tried to do any updates from sprint/Samsung pushed OTA. IDK for some reason I had it in my head that starting from scratch was being suggested. But it probably was just something I thinking, maybe for practice if I ever have to return or replace it. Or clear any bugs I may have created going from ROM to ROM and loading and unloading truck loads of apps. :) Ideas? Or is is flash as usual, following the directions exactly? ;)

wipe everything and flash as usual
 
Not that I am too bothered with all the extra features that Megatron brings but I notice... No live wallpaper support in this rom?
Did I miss something? I only ever set one on occasion when I'm really bored, just wondering

download the removed apps zip and install it manually.
