Root [DISCONTINUED] MegaTron 6.2.5

Had a crazy day today, fixed the play store issue but noticed that for the whole day since flashing the update, my phone loses a great amount of battery, it falls off 5-10% every 5 mins even if I wasn't using it, and I turned off my data and everything but my phone did not charge properly, it got stuck at.1-2% increase and decrease in battery life on the charger lol, then out of the blue it rebooted itself and I noticed that it went back to the basic settings for the xperia launcher and my battery was going up as it should even when I'm using it lol wonder what happened? Anybody got the same? :p

I get that a lot when using a different charger and while using it while charging.
 
Hey, chev, I thought I'd clarify what I was talking about with regards to the shading of the bars for cell service (on the MIUI theme).
After I installed the 6.2.4 version, I noticed that it was well highlighted, as it should be. Then I remembered something that I had done in the name of reducing wakelocks. I Read somewhere (here in XDA somewhere, I think) that said if you blacklisted mtalk.google.com in AdAway (or at least set it to 127.0.0.1 in the hosts file, which I believe has the same effect) that it would get rid of the GTALK_ASYNC_CONN wakelock, which is one that was particularly annoying to me, since I don't use that service at all.

So I decided to do an experiment, and re - blacklisted the mtalk.google.com in AdAway, and right after I rebooted the phone reception bars are hard to see again. So apparently the system doesn't like to have gtalk blocked.

Anyway, that strategy seems to have kind of worked. Didn't completely eliminate the wakelock but seems to have significantly reduced it.

I just thought I'd share the discovery so you'd know what I was talking about, and not think I have lost my mind because it looks fine under normal circumstances.

Yes it seems no matter what I do. I have tried even before making any kind of modifications and even before setting up accounts same thing. It's so frustrating. Without that I am really unable to test any further. I have fixed permissions and wiped caches till i'm blue in the face.

When you flash it do you have the dcsms app in your drawer? Try redownloading it and flash it again.
 
Yes I do. I have redownloaded several time. I just tried another flash with the same result. Sorry chev.
 
I also am having problems with play services. YouTube updates, says it won't work without play services. Try to download that and it says its incompatable with other apps using the same shared user name. Reflashed a few times with no relief.

I guess mine is doing the same thing. I just hadn't tried using youtube or anything else that uses play services. But I just tried with the exact same results as outlined above.

EDIT: with the exception being I did not re flash the ROM :-)

Had a talk with blood today about the problem and got a fix coming for play services as soon as dropbox re-enables my public links, they disabled it for high traffic;)

Thanks Chev that worked until I started adding my apps back then I got a couple force closes on Display and Sound then another one on WI FI and after that I did a battery pull and got the Status Bar force close again. I think my wife is getting used to CTMOD so I am just gonna let her run that. Thanks for all the help though.
 
hello i had you 6.1 system running wonderfully i upgraded to 6.2 my phone went blank and wont power up even with a new fully charged or wont go in recovery

Sorry bro but If anything got messed up it was on your part. Based on my rom stat server that I'm looking at, exactly 14 people updated to 6.2.1. 6 people updated to 6.2.2. 18 people updated to 6.3.3 and 35 people updated to 6.2.4. Overall I have over 40 registered boost Mobile lg marques and over 30 registered sprint marquees and if only 1 person reported their phone not turning on after the release for the 6.2+ versions it was probably something that you did on your end. My ROMs aren't perfect and there's still a few bugs around but I test my stuff thoroughly to know that it won't brick your device.
 
Take your battery out let your phone sit for 2 minutes .... then put the battery back in do not plug up your charger... hold the down volume button the home button then press power button and hold them.... let me know if that works if not I can tell you something else to do
 
Okay I can get a text but I can't get pictures... I'm on boost mobile what do I need to do to fix it? otherwise everything is working great... You have done a great job awesome
 
anyone else getting sync errors on 6.2.4 ? worked yesterday but today not . says right # of messages but wont load them? any ideas
 
I just noticed this, but I don't seem to be able to turn off GPS from the toogles menu. It says that it's on so I tap it. It does its little jiggle thing, then disappears and comes scooting back across the screen, but it's still set to ON.

Any idea how to make sure it turns off?

could happen from time to time, just manually turn it off when not needed.
 
Okay here's my problem....... I put 6.2.4 on my phone yesterday morning... and it works perfect all day yesterday just about all day today.. but when I set up a screen lock pin code everything went haywire:eek: now everything is force closing and everytime my screen goes off it goes blank and never comes back on then I have to take the battery out to restart my phone. so I reinstalled the ROM and everything works perfect again. But when I set up a pin code to lock my phone it does it again.. other than that everything is great but you know these days you have to lock your phone...lol....

hmmmm Nice find, will debug and adjust that problem in 6.2.6 when i get a chance, currently working on other models at the moment so stay away from the pin lockscreen for now.
