Well the phone switched from showing 3G reception on Gingerbread to 4G reception on ICS. So there really isn't any comparison between the two. The reception on the Razr is far better than it ever was with my Galaxy Nexus though. I actually saw this yesterday:

I hope so. Anyone who is shrugging their shoulders at that should understand that reception like that is hard to get with 4G and even harder when you live in the Rocky Mountains. I never thought I'd see it.

This article is saying the Razr HD will be the same as the Atrix 3.

It upsets me that I am forced to get the S3 to keep my unlimited data and if I want to get the HD I will have to buy it off contract. If both the HD and S3 came out at the same time, I would choose the HD in a heartbeat. I love the reception strength, and build quality of Motorola phones over Samsung's cheap plastics. Oh well. I still browse this forum everyday to see news and updates even though I jumped ship to the S3.

I'm hoping we start hearing more about Razr HD by the first of August. Rumors of this device is the only thing keeping me from losing my mind on Verizon right now (after my experience with the Galaxy Nexus and their offensive offer to replace it with a standard Razr). I'd be fighting them big-time if I didn't believe this device would be dropping in the next few months. I want to keep unlimited data so I'm prepared to pay full retail for Razr HD. We need to get these GS3's in the hands of their owners so the focus will shift to Moto's "next".
I've only been a smartphone owner since March 2011 when I bought HTC's Thunderbolt on launch day. I've become addicted to wanting the next big thing just like so many here. I've had an HTC which was nice and a Samsung that has been a nightmare. I can't wait to try my first Motorola.

Interesting. When I searched Bluetooth SIG for XT926 (the supposed model no. of the RAZR HD/Fighter), the page for the MB886 (Atrix 3) came up.
So you may have found that these two devices are one in the same (except, of course, network tech, which makes them not the same to that extent).
The filing at Bluetooth SIG was June 25, so that could mean an announcement sooner rather than later.

I went from a Palm Treo to a Blackberry Curve to the HTC Droid Eris to the Samsung Fascinate to Moto Droid then to an Incredible 2 which I traded for the Samsung Charge which I returned to go back to the Fascinate then to the HTC Rezound which I returned for the Galaxy Nexus and then traded in for the Motorola Razr Maxx. Oddly enough I've only actually paid money for 4 of those phones.
After 3 HTC devices, 2 Motos and 3 Samsungs I'll take Moto or HTC any day. They both generally have good build quality, solid radios and great software. The only reason I stayed away from Moto for so long was because of Blur. That and I was able to get many of those phones for free. After having the Razr Maxx for only a few days I can honestly say that it is one of the very best Android devices I've ever owned. Did I mention that I've had it off the charger for over a day and still have 40% battery left?

That would actually be a smart move on Moto's part. Two phones with incredible battery life, HD screens and solid hardware would give the iPhone a run for its money on two different networks. Since it is already beating the iPhone on Verizon doing it on At&t would be a major bonus.

Back the day the Treo was an amazing device. Hacking it was so much fun. It was a huge beast of a phone though. now we complain if they are over 9mm thick and the 600 was like 2 inches or something.

For me, the ol' Treo was more torture than pleasure. Crashing consistently, major known issues that Palm intentionally ignored. Classic finger-pointing of "call VZW, no call Palm, no call VZW." Auugghh, I felt like Charlie Brown. Went "legal" on them to force a replacement, which unfortunately had the same problems. Today, five years later, just the thought of Palm still makes me

Well after owning the Razr Maxx for a few days now, I think I am going to start looking at this as my next phone. After switching out from my Galaxy Nexus the only thing I would really like to have is the screen back. If this actually ends up being what it is speculated to be it will be amazing. Honestly, I hope this thing has a bigger battery than the Maxx though. Am I asking too much?
To those jumping at the S3, I really hope your Samsung experience is better than mine and so many others. I know some of you say that Moto has rubbed you the wrong way, I'm the exact same way about Samsung.
No, you're not asking to much and I too wouldn't mind if they put a bigger battery in the Maxx HD, but thinking about it logicly I would doubt that they will. With a 3300 mAh battery available, the cost to design and build a bigger one would probably add 4 or 5 bucks to the cost of the phone. If they sell a million+ phones this would cut into thier profit on the phone to the tune of $5,000,000+.
I really wish we would get some solid info on the Maxx HD. I've had such good luck with my "X" I'm sure I'll like the HD, at least I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this point. :smokingsomb:

Whoa, are you saying that the Maxx in the same location went from 3G on GB to that on ICS??

No, sorry for any confusion. With ICS 4G phones are actually showing the bars and status are actually showing what the LTE reception is. In Gingerbread and presumably ever other OS variation it would only show the 3G reception.
So the Razr would display the bars and signal that you were getting on 3G even if 4G was active and running. Now with ICS you are seeing 4G in every way as the actual representation of the signal. It made a huge difference in the reported signal for users in the beginning. Nobody could figure out why they were at -120 dBm and still able to make phone calls.
I really wanted to like the RAZR Max, but coming from a Droid X, I wasn't willing to replace it with a phone that was so much larger (footprint) yet didn't increase the screen size.

I unsubscribed from the SIII Pre-Release thread - I'm waiting for the Moto. Waiting isn't something I do very well. Still not impressed with Samsung's Build Quality.
Hope everyone getting their SIII's really like them.

With the Razr Maxx, Razr HD, Galaxy Nexus, etc. the screen really ends up being about the same size. The soft keys on the Nexus and presumably on the Razr Maxx cut into the screen size so that that .2 or .3 of an inch you gain gets taken away. Now, when watching video or playing games the full screen is available which is nice, but really not that much of a gain or loss either way.
The couple of things that have me interested in the Razr HD is the camera, HD screen and upgrade in processor. The idea of it coming with Jelly Bean is also very intriguing. If it isn't a huge jump in most areas though, I'll probably wait for the Razr HD2.
This of course would have a 4.6" to 5" 1080p screen, 35MP camera (with night vision), built in projector, octo-core processor, 9900 battery and run Lemon Square.

Are they SERIOUSLY going to do this again? Waiting a month to release yet another version with the larger battery, completely screwing everyone who just bought an Atrix3?

Yep, it looks like it is just going to be a slightly modified Razr.
The screen is HD and 4.5"
Onscreen ICS keys
1.5 Ghz dual-core processor
Less internal storage, only 8GB.
Camera is still 8MP.
1780 mAh battery
I'm also sorry to see that they rounded the corners. I wish companies would stick with a body type when they have on that works.
