Discuss all Moto Droid Razr/Maxx HD rumors/release date/speculation/news

Considering that it talks about rumors of a RAZR MAX, it must be a really old page.

Yeah, so how old is that page? Rumors of RAZR-MAXX????

Also, here's a copy and paste of what's in the upper right corner of the page.

The Fighter is listed as is the RAZR Maxx???? the phone they appear to be talking about is the RAZR HD - MAX.

The copy and paste didn't do an exact copy and paste, but the importants stuff is there.

Well this seems to point out that the fighter may be turned to the razr hd. So who knows. The chinese HD razrs were shown around the launch of the us razrs to begin with making us all wonder why they did not come hd to begin with.

I agree - sounding like the "What's the name going to be". If VZW wins - it'll be "DROID". IF MOTO wins - it'll be "RAZR".

Well here is my 2 cents on the whole thing. Anyone else remember that other Droid that emerged that apparently looked just like the "Droid Fighter" except without Moto's and Verizon's branding all over it? Well I'm guessing that that one might actually be the Droid RAZR HD while the one that has Moto's and Verizon's branding will actually be the Droid Fighter. This merely conjecture though, so there is no need to take it as truth.

So I don't think i understand lol. R we saying the "Droid fighter" could be named "razr maxx HD" making "fighter" pretty much code word for what they were releasing? Or they r in fact 2 different phones?

I think what Cris90 is saying is something similar to the Droid X/Milestone X. They are the same phone, but different names based on the carrier. So, the Droid Fighter could be the Verizon version of the RAZR HD.

Until moto quits encrypting their bootloaders, or going with faster updates I am going to stay away from their products. If i wanted something locked down I would get an iphone.

Well, now that Motorola Mobility is under the Google umbrella, we'll have to see what comes down regarding the bootloader situation. Their stance could soften with Google being the developer of the operating system.

Time will tell, however,

I don't buy it, and based on their own statements, I don't see them changing motorola a whole lot. I hope I'm wrong though, another Motorola Nexus device (Since the OG Droid was effectively a nexus) would be great...

That being said, with 2nd init, and other hacks, I'd rather be limited to a certain kernel and have Motorola's great build quality and signal retention, than have unlimited kernel access, and poorer quality. All I have to do is hold off and make sure 2nd-init can be obtained before purchasing the phone...

+1 Having a locked bootloader on the DX hasn't limited me much.

We still have no real information about this phone at Verizon.

I couldn't wait so I ordered a Nexus.... Well at least I got rid of my iphone.:ciao:

Think I will go ahead and get a RAZR MAXX before the upgrade fee on Sunday April 22nd.

I'm not sure that the upgrade fee is large enough to make me commit to a GB phone for 2 years.

(Yes, it will be upgraded, but I would rather have a phone designed for ISC from the start)

Same here. I will say though if all it has different from the Droid maxx is an HD screen then I will be so pissed I didn't upgrade before the fee. Ics or not this phone better be awesome :)

Yes there is a lot of stuff in the pic.

However, what we need is something like a pre production phone given to a reviewer to review! Yes, specs can change from pre-production to actual production models but usually changes are minor. At least then we know the phone was coming and also the majority of the specifications.

C'mon Verizon/Motorola/Google, toss us a bone!

I'm waiting patiently... (what choice do I have) but it's difficult to not get impatient. But then again, what good would that do?

By the way, who has paid for the ad right above the "Quick Reply" window? The one that says
