New picture: Is this the Fighter?
Verizon-Mystery-Motorola-ICS.jpg

If you are talking about the Moto phone on the right, there is a very good possibility that it could be. The style is very much like the RAZR but also different. The Motorola logo is off to one side near the earpiece. If nothing else is could be an early render being used for the purpose in the photo.

EDIT: I think that on the right is the smaller Xyboard now.

I thought they were referring to the device in the middle. The one on the right side is waaaaaaaay too big to be a phone.

One in middle looks like one of their phones thatwould slide out with a querty keyboard. Those are smaller phones. The one on the right is about the right size of the razr series. If u look top-left u can see tablets size, def way bigger.

Putting my hand in the same position as the one in the picture, the one in the center is significantly bigger than my Droid X. The one on top is a 10" tablet. The one on the right is a smaller tablet (7"? 8.9"?). It is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big to be a phone.

I'd imagine we'll hear about this phone around the time the S3 is launched (not necessarily when it's announced on 5/3). Verizon would do well to encourage it's customers (and potential customers) to wait just a little longer, rather than move to another carrier and get the S3.

Although I'm sure the number of users who switch carriers for a specific android phone are remarkably small... it's one thing to switch carriers to get an iPhone (back in the day), but another to switch just to get a slightly different flavor of android.

We still have no real information about this phone at Verizon.

I couldn't wait so I ordered a Nexus.... Well at least I got rid of my iphone.:ciao:
So I guess I'm back on waiting for the Fighter.

The Nexus was the biggest piece of crap ever. Horrible battery life and reception issues.. Never again Samsung.

This upgrade fee and no new information on the Fighter has me considering giving in and getting the MAXX! This whole thing is getting frustrating. What do I do?

I considered doing the same, but I'm going to hold out for two things: the family data plan (supposedly available this summer) and a BOGO deal on one of these newer phones (the Maxx will be fine, but I'd rather have the Fighter...I think). Getting a BOGO deal with the upgrade fee will be cheaper than buying two Maxx's now.

I say wait if you can live with your current phone for a few more months.

I don't like the screen on the current generation Razrs, I think text looks just awful. I can't live though a new contract with that screen. The higher res screens of the GNex and especially the Rezound are just beautiful and render everything (inc text) beautifully. However, both those phones have issues (plus they are getting "old") where I wouldn't recommend either of those phones as well.

The upgrade fee had me about to jump on the GNex, but again, I have to keep this phone for almost 2 years so I want to make the best choice.

I agree, I fail to see 960x540 pentile as being an upgrade over the 854x480 of my X at all...

Makes me wonder if I'll have to hold onto my upgrade till this fall... maybe when the next gen Tegra3+ LTE devices hit. Doesn't seem like Verizon has any interest in introducing a real next generation phone anytime soon.

It seems to me that Motorola and it's parent company feel Verizon customers aren't worthy of Ice Cream Sandwich

They were just probably using it as a prop simulating the images on the screen.
The keys don't appear until you hit the top lock button like my Incredible 2, but then again what new moto phones keys always stay light/visible? Battery waster.

so this couldnt have happened at a worse time. My Droid 1 just kicked the bucket and wont charge. only needed it to last a little bit longer.... So should I file with the insurance and have them send me a replacement phone? wonder what it would be o.0

EDIT: ok just called and said I'd like to know what phone I would get and how much. $100 and it'd be the Droid 1 that I had....wtf $100? a bionic costs $100 right now at verizon....I've been paying for insurance, how is that $100???

Insurance is a rip, I do an auto deposit of 6.99 into a savings account every month for the past 5 years. Now I have over $400in there for if and when I drop/lose or otherwise feel like buying the latest and greatest phone.:thrasher:

With Verizon preparing a bigger and probably badder version of the DROID RAZR, this model is likely just an incremental update for Chinese consumers who haven’t bought a RAZR yet.

So that article pretty much has nothing to do with the Droid Fighter, possibly known as Verizon's RAZR HD (MAXX?)

Also, it's well known that China has had a HD version of the RAZR since december I believe, so I'd assume this is just a minor tweak of that model.
