I have 50 of these DiskCacheIndex .tmp files on my sdcard. What are they and what do they do?

I always delete mine so they must not be too important?

Its the cache files for the sd card itself, its safe to delete, but Id recommend deleting in recovery if you do - I notive performance lag for a few min if deleted while mounted through usb

Why would the sd card need a cache file?
What is it cacheing? Its an SD card?

My guess is data that is frequently used? Apps2sd?

Hmm
I got those files way before I put apps2sd on my phone.
Any other ideas?

Its basically a phonebook - Holds some data from the phone, tells some apps where their data is
