Root Dj05 or Dl09?

Will there be more roms and kernells made for dl09 than dj05? Were are things heading? Which one would you need to get froyo from the devs? Thanks

Assuming froyo is leaked or built by devs (the latter got a lot more promising this afternoon) it wouldn't make a difference which one you are on. :)

The vast majority of mods/kernels/roms/themes are dj05....but the kernels work for both....and there is a theme fix at xda to flash.dj05 themes over dl09....so its not a huge deal

Roms are stagnant atm until 2.2/2.3
 
Froyo being built by the devs got more interesting this afternoon? Do indulge! Lol. I am really wishin I had just jumped into dj05 when it leaked. Waiting for the ota is ridiculus! I know I know, nit told me it would be ok.

Yea now you can just push dj05 or dl09 through odin you don't even have to root now. :D

Yeah nothing concrete (or really working) but....punk kaos looks like a huge addition to the fascinate community. :)
 
No shit? So I plug into laptop, load odin, push file through pda and I got dj05? What all does it come with? Is there a rom in there? Kernell? Where can I find this? Is someone gonna be online to help me, just in case?:D. Lol. Is it painless?
Do I need cwr? I removed that a while ago.

From what I've heard you don't need root, cwr, or anything just push through odin. If you will head to xda I will to and we will both look for it and meet back here ;)
 
What all will it delete? Will I lose launcher pro and my sey up? I used ti to back up user apps and data. Will that fix it of I restore that afelter odin?

I don't think so.. but thats just my general thinking because ti backup needs root and if you odin the package it removes root. Nit may have a better idea than me about this than me
 
Do you guys think the Verizon ota will be anything better than what we can just get from xda? I mean, I'm rooted running voodoo5 1200ul and I don't think my phone can get any better than this. Battery life, speed, I love where my current system is at

Sam set up Im on to the T. DL09 is DL09 whether you get it today from verizon OTA or weeks ago thru the leak. Im still DJ05 but I think I might change the radio/modem to DL09 since it wont hurt me but Im keeping my rom DJ05 for now

Weren't there some complaints with DL09 when it was leaked that kept people sticking with DJ05?

And if you did switch, what's the process other than changing the radio/modem? Just go through Odin and that's it?

Yeah DL09 most said wasnt any better than DJ05. I havent switched anything yet but yeah you either odin the modem tar and cwm flash the dl09 rom or if you have the all in one md5 you odin that
 
I was debating between DL09 and DJ05 myself, but decided to stick with DJ05 because as everyone mentioned that's where the kernel/rom development seemed to stay with. I've seen some people say GPS didn't work with DJ05 for them, but then was perfect with DL09 and vice versa. I already had a custom kernel and was using superclean. I don't know how the roms for DJ05 mesh with DL09, but GPS seems to be working for me on DJ05 so I'm sticking with that.

if you have gps issues, then id say give the dl09 radio/rom a shot to see if it fixes anything...otherwise theres kinda no point :)
