DlevROM2... slick & fast!

Battery performance here is good but not quite as good as I've been getting with MCR-GR1 + Syrah 1.8rc2.

Same here.
With Revolution I would typically get 1 or 2% drain overnight.
Its early days I know, so I will test some more, but last night I lost 4% overnight, with minimal wakeloks

I hear you man, just unsure as Ironass (quality username) is running 2.3.5 and I'm only on 2.3.4 Not sure if this makes much of a difference

Installing 2.1.1 will automatically put you onto Android 2.3.5 as it is KI3 based

I did a power-off charge overnight and nuked the batterystats.bin when I restarted. So far, with 8h 11m of pretty minimal use it's dropped to 80%. Previously I'd expect to see around 85%. Definitely not conclusive yet.

You've kinda lost me, go backwards to go forwards?! What exactly is KI3, in a nutshell...

2.1.1 is the version of DlevROM
This is based on official Samsung firmware called KI3
KI3 is for Android 2.3.5

Perhaps I should point out that I'm currently using the Siyah 1.8 (the 2 beta is too iffy for me yet) kernel with the following settings in SetCPU...

Main

Max: 1200000MHz (was 1600000MHz)

Min: 200000

Scaling: ondemandx

Profiles

Screen off: 500 max 200min

Temp > 40C 800 max 200 min

Battery <25% 800 max 200 min

Voltages

untouched

Advanced

Definitely untouched.

been using Dlev since 1.2. I was flashing ROMs like crazy before Dlev. It's dependable and snappy. But the great thing is, Dlev and Sileshn are both very involved in the thread. And Sileshn is very willing to help users achieve the look they want out of the ROM. For example,

6247857559_6eb9476133.jpg

Notification screen/drawer without the "Dlevrom" logo. He also made the 1.3 theme flashable to 2.x upon request, as well as 6 toggle version of 2.x theme... etc. I'm vouching for the OP's opinion. Try the ROM. And if you like it, consider making a donation to Dlev and Sileshn.

OT
Hi lads, I`m finally back in Irl so can start checking new roms :D
OT end

I went thru this thread and i`m nearly convinced to move from Litening rom to this one but is there anyone here who made such change from Lite -> Dlev ? Just wondering is there is big difference in f.e. speed ? Thx in advance for help lads :)

If I want to install go launcher EX instead of Launcher Pro, is it as simple as just deleting that from the ROM's zip file and replacing it with the go launcher APK?

Also, if I do a full wipe will that just wipe the system partition + my apps, or will it delete all of my music/photos/etc as well? All of my music/photos are on the internal memory, I don't have an SD card.

Finally, if I install a custom ROM like this will I be able to pick which voice app I want to open both when I double click home and when I connect a bluetooth headset? That's the MAIN reason I'm looking into rooting but so far I haven't even seen anyone mention if this is possible or not!

Thanks in advance... not a noob to rooting/flashing in general but I'm a noob to rooting/flashing with the SGS2 :p (haven't yet done so)

I use Go Launcher on this ROM
Just install it, then set it as the default.
I've not even uninstalled LauncherPro, but I have no need for it, so its ok to have the 2 installed alongside TouchWiz

I store all my music/photos etc on external sd card, but a full wipe+factory reset shouldnt effect this on your internal sd card. I have various kernels, roms etc stored on the internal sd_card, and they remain there after a factory reset.

One more question...

On my old Desire I used to do either a Titanium Backup backup/MyBackup Pro backup and a Nandroid backup in CWM before wiping data and flashing a new ROM - would you recommend the same for the SGS2?

Always do a CWM backup before flashing a new ROM without fail, I also even do so on most occasions even for a new theme, kernel and modem. You never know what might go wrong so its better to be safe than sorry. (many forget that themes can be particularly dangerous to flash especially if you do not have any sort of theme restore zip. All manner of things can go wrong after a dodgy theme install for example)

A titanium backup is handy for when you flash a new rom with a full wipe. When running your rom for the first time, you get the option to let google restore you apps (which will incur 3g data) or you could bypass the google sync option, install titanium from the market and you should then see the last of your backups from which you can reinstall the apps you require

Just want to say thanks to everyone on here.

My first ever post in this community.

But it really means a lot, a fantastic review, and thanks everyone for the support, and everyone that has donated to either me or Sileshn. We really appreciate it. And are thrilled you guys enjoy the ROM.

Hopefully I may become a regular in this forum who knows
