Help Do I have to tolerate 1 dead pixel ?

A stuck pixel which appears blue in the middle of the lower part of screen. Actually since galaxy interface is dark, it is visible only on light background and from close distance since it is very small. I have this phone less than 3 weeks and now I'm considering returning it back, but again, it is time (at least 2 weeks). My phone works pretty good without many issues outlined in this forum, so It's again a risk to have a new device with new and more serious issues.

What do you guys think ? Thanks in advance !

i have one dead pixel as well and i dont give a f**k bout it. seriously, its barely visible and if not your topic i would totally forget about it ;) so IMO dont worry too much, those things happen...

Probably you have this phone for at least 2-3 months =], I just remember myself being too paranoid about any new device I've had in my life, starting from small scratch on my brand new nokia phone and ending with this case. I think it really won't bother me after some time, but now I'm driving crazy a bit =D, Actually that's not why I paid that money for !

I agree with you, i was pissed off for few days but then i realized its not important. I have this phone 3 months now and cant complain. But if you look on other things like cars for example, even the most expensive ones can have some troubles from time to time. Nothing and nobody is perfect but thats the way it is... ;)

Did you try some apps like pixel fixer from android market ? I tried to work it out overnight but nothing changed, some users reported that they were successful after 3 night of flashing the screen with this app and pixel started to work. Probably I will try to put it on this night also.

Never heard about such app but it sounds interesting (even thou i`m bit sceptic) and i will give it a go tonight. I`ll let you know did it helped.

I think it is sad that you will never be able to relax and enjoy your phone!

What is worst is that this is ONLY your phone.

I have 1 stuck green pixel and 2 dead pixels on my unit (but the dead pixels are partly lit so they are not that noticable on white)

I'm hesitating about getting it replaced (it's my 3rd replacement), and I received NO flawless screen. :(

you already replaced this phone 3 times ? oh dear... i guess u have bad luck... ;) and seriously, is it so annoying to have 1-3 dead pixels ? its still barely visible... at least i don`t care but its up to you. Try this pixel fixer as advised above and see if this helps. i will test it myself but even if that wont work, i wont be crying ;)

if u didn't root ur phone u r under warranty and can exchange
if u did root ur phone good luck, maybe why he has to don't give a ****

If you'd done your research you would know that your warranty won't cover 1 dead pixel as it doesn't effect the use of your phone

really? show me ur proof where 1 dead pixel is NOT under warranty
before u do that any further comments r considered trolling

Guys, but seriously, is that one pixel can hurt so much ? I showed to some people my "problem" and they were telling me that I'm nuts :D, cause it is visible only when I stare at that f* pixel, probably I can get by this, but I should admit that now sometimes it kinda drives me crazy and I start to think that my phone is not useful any more. It is paranoia for sure but any other time I would think that there is nothing to worry about.

How can I fully get by this problem ?

I dont give a f**k bout warranty. I know what im doing and im very happy that i decided to root my phone. If my phone will die i will just get myself a new one, i have good work and can afford buying new SGS2 even everyday if i want but its not the point. I dont absolutley care about 1 dead pixel (btw this program for foxing dead pixels didn work for me) as it is barely visible.

Good for you, but I bought this phone with a new contract and I need it to last the 2 years. For me, the dead pixel is beyond annoying. Why should I accept a stuck or dead pixel on a screen that small when my HD tv and HP laptop (which is cheaper than my S2) have perfect led screens, with NO dead pixel).

So I'll keep being an ass and ask for a third replacement and get a new S2. Dead pixels are annoying, well I'll be much more annoying for my carrier and samsung !

Not really that big of a deal. Forget about it and just enjoy your phone for crips sakes. Everything in your phone is amazing but still your not happy about it because of 1 dead pixel.

My take on Title and OP is : check your garantee date .. .change the phone 1week before the date for display failure.Until that don't.

Yeah, I put even another programm which flashes a full screen for 7.5 hours and now put that pixel fix 2.0 again and consider to keep it for some time, cause I read the comments that for some people it took to run this prog for 3(!) nights to take away that dead pixel.

It's good for you that you don't care about it, probably it is the best attitude, otherwise that's paranoia which I'm suffering right now and I admit - I feel sick :D.

After reading in other forum where guy now has his 4th galaxy with bad pixel and last time the stuck pixel is barely visible even on test screen and he is still going to change it for the 5th one - sorry, but that's even more sick, probably everybody who cares about 1 dead pixel has to seek mental help or try to cure himself trying not to worry about that pixel, cause this character could ruin some parts of life - the phone is not the main point and I won't keep to see all the defects even the smallest one for example in my future wife :D and try to get a new one or earn money for surgery :D

I believe it will take week or two for me to start not giving a sh* about that pixel =)

The sick guy on xda developers is me

I don't care about swaping it again, I do not want any bad pixel on it, actually it does have 2 dead pixel and 1 green pixel, the dead pixel don't annoy me, I can't see them at all but the green one turns me mad.

I'll just swap it by principle, I don't want to tolerate that on a smart phone. Even my girl friend who has a cheap samsung player has absolutly no dead pixel !

The topic of this thread is clear. Nowhere does it refer to rooting, so leave any discussion of that out of the equation. Keep your contributions respectful and positive, and there'll be no problems. Any more bickering or name-calling however will guarantee them.

Just imagine how much time you have lost while fighting with those pixels instead of just trying to live with them. Soon the brand new Galaxy s3 gonna go out and you could be still fighting with bad pixels.

Why that annoys you so much ? Just try to treat your phone as a device you need to do your daily stuff and not as a partner of life, 1-3 dead pixels won't change phone's main functions nor it will make it less usable.
