Help Do I need/can I stop these services

This week I had 6 updates, which I installed, to:
facebook app,
dolphin,
adobe flash,
c:geo,
google maps,
google street view

Now I notice on power up of the phone some new (I am sure) google services, and that facebook starts up on power up:

I noticed before maps starts up.

Do I have to have these start on power up and can I stop that any way?

These are the google services, which I deffo haven't seen before:

the location service I can understand, but the messaging one surely I don't need. I have disabled google talk, still fires up on power up.

Is there a FAQ anywhere that lists the services on Nexus that tells you about them, and which ones you can bin.

STandard nexus in UK on 3 netowrk, on ICS 4.0.4

the google services seem to start and run on their own no matter what. No workarounds that I am aware of. As for Facebook.... uninstall it. I've read nothing but problems from people who have it running. The suggestion is to use the web version of Facebook (or drop facebook altogether).

I have noticed the over night battery use from a full charge is discharging more than normal.

I would uninstall Facebook app, as I prefer to use dolphin, but there are a couple of things the app does better.
Though I have to say the permissions Facebook app have are quite alarming.

Disabling services is asking for trouble. You should check your battery stats (under settings) to see what's using your battery.

If you have stuff running that you don't need, just uninstall it.
