Do I need to do the Rom upgrade?

Hi! Im a newbie with the Hero so please excuse my ignorance. On the link provided by the 3 website the Rom upgrade available is ROM version 2.73.405.5 but the one on my phone is 2.73.771.62
Now I'm assuming that the bigger the number, the more recent the software. Am I right with this and if so, am I correct in thinking I dont need to upgrade the ROM? Thanks in advance for any replies.

From memory the format is:

<major revision>.<minor revision>.<provider>.<localisation?>

Your current ROM is therefore up-to-date. The 405.5 update from HTC is simply a generic World Wide English ROM.
