Root Do I need to flash a kernel?

I flashed the clean theory and 802 radio last night , do I also need to flash a kernel? Or is that included in the clean theory flash? Thanks!!

Every ROM you flash includes a kernel. The only time you'll have to flash one is if you'd like to try a different one

i flashed skyraider and i'm still on the stock thunderbolt kernel i'm pretty sure :/ some may come with it but i don't believe skyraider did :/

You are both right and wrong.

You are on the newest HTC kernel on skyraider but it was included in the rom. When you wipe system you delete the kernel as well so the rom has to have kernel or it wouldn't boot for you. Most roms do not come with a stock HTC kernel.

its there. if it didnt have a kernel you wouldnt have a functioning operating system

IIRC,skyraider mostly did stock,and tweaked stock roms,and i believe it comes with an HTC kernel. im not sure if the kernel is modded,or stock.
