Do Not Buy an HTC Incredible 2

Search the net bro. You'll find that others are having the exact same problems as I am. What do you think, I haven't searched around for answers? Come on man!

I was not saying the phone is perfect ... but it didn't seem like you were looking for help, just wanted to complain about it. Had you said something more like ... "Man, wish this phone would work for me, think you guys could help ... ect" my response would have been different. Glad to see you got most of your problems fixed, welcome to the site.

all phones will act weird from time to time, especially the blackberry you had before the inc2.

Lol, you guys have a good sense of humor on this site and I'm not being sarcastic. I may have bitched and started off on the wrong foot, but this thread has turned out to be somewhat helpful and humorous I think. Anyone that searches on the clock widget/alarm problem will be informed that a factory reset will fix it. WHERE ARE MY THANKS!

Please please please just edit your posts instead of double posting :-P

I usually do, you can see that a lot of my posts are edited. Sometimes I'm just in the mood for a new post. I'm kinda scatter brained at times, I'm not sure what to tell ya bro.

Please please please just edit your posts instead of double posting :-P

No, you're right, only a couple of them were edited. Oh shite, did I double post again?

Holy shnikies a triple post! I really can't believe no one "reported me" after my first post. It's so common for tech forums to use the "report" feature. I've seen "reporting" wars the likes of which none of you could imagine.

Now if some of you would get off your nerd asses and create an app that blinks the LED indefinitely for notifications, I'd be in a happy place.

I just downloaded an app called "Easy Reminder" that does just that.

LED blinks forever until you view the notification. Actually you can tell it exactly how long you want it to blink for after a notification, but I went with "infinite" You can also set it to vibrate or make notification sounds periodically until the notification is checked. You can create different sets of parameters for call notifications and SMS/MMS notifications. And, you can set a "do not disturb" period like for when you're sleeping or whatever.

Not trying to lay a sales pitch here (it's free though! haha), it just seems like something you're looking for so I thought I'd mention it.

Missed Reminder stopped working for me after the last software push. Then I tried to reinstall it, couldn't find on the market. Then I tried Missed Call, didn't work. Then I tried Easy Reminder, didn't work. Then I did a factory reset to fix a bunch of other problems I was having in addition. Then I tried Easy reminder again, didn't work. Now I'm afraid to install any apps because I'm not sure what broke my phone and made me do a factory reset in the first place.

I have Missed Reminder on and I have the OTA... Works awesome... I have version 0.9.3...
Try to find that version apk file and reinstall..

This is what I have done to fix the software issues on my device:

1) Factory reset your phone and go through the activation process
2) When signing into your Google account, uncheck the option to back up to your Google account. Manually restore apps one at a time.
3) Disable fast-boot
4) Enjoy the phone

The only thing that this will not fix is the flickering that comes from manage applications. It just goes back and forth with the numbers "calculating" and then it is good. Very annoying, happens only once upon boot.

I'm sorry to you fans out there but this is the worst phone I've ever owned. I have been using mobile phones since the days of the original brick phone and car phone. I have never had so many problems with a phone. First of all it's not 4g and the battery still sucks. Then there's the notifications, you're only notified of a missed call for 5 minutes and it turns itself off. So if you go to drop a deuce and someone calls you, you will have no idea that you missed the call until you wake the phone up. Then there's the led, it only works with green and amber so you can't adjust colors for notifications. Also, when you have it charging, the blinking notification light doesn't work because it's busy telling you that it's still charging. Then all the sudden I couldn't touch my clock widget to set an alarm. Apparently this is a known issue because of the last software update. Plus I'm having countless other little issues that I never had with a motorola droid or any other smartphone for that matter. I really can't believe it. Oh and then there's the reception bars that don't work. An internet search will enlighten you that it's an programming issue and doesn't reflect you're actual reception but really? You get something like that wrong. Wtf is going on?

Oh, and for those of you saying to download apps, I have and they don't work either. You can't even find missed reminder or missed call in the market anymore. I had missed reminder but it stopped working after the update. Really? A reminder that goes away after 5 minutes? Are you joking?

What a piece of s#$%. Smart phone? Really?

Plus the bloatware seems way worse than any other phone I've had. I just tried to download an alarm clock app and there is no sound! And yes, the alarm volume is turned all the way up on the phone and the app. I can't even use this phone as an alarm clock. WHAT!

My brother has the first edition and loves it. Since when is the second edition worse than the first? They must have laid off all their good programmers to save money.

You don't know how to use the phone!

its funny my droid incredible 2 has almost none of these things besides the alarm clock issue. Oh well i fixed that by getting the free alarm clock app from amazon. And the speakers could be louder but thats not a problem, its just how the phone was designed.

You know there is going to be that one guy that can not be happy i mean if he didnt like he could have returned it thats y verizon gives u 14 days to return it

Sashimigrade, I do have to agree with one thing you said - the Star Tac was one incredible phone! I once separated the top piece from the lower by smacking it against a doorjamb while it SS bolstered in the 'open' position. The top piece was hanging from the bottom by a wire. I snapped the top back in place, and the phone was fine again! Amazingly tough phone.

BTW, why does the bloatware bug the sh*t out of so many people? It's not like the device has such limited internal memory that it restricts you from installing more apps. And it's not like they stay on, running your battery down. Just ignore them.

They are just ugly to look at while scrolling through the app drawer. I'm sure most people have OCD when it comes to their smartphones and want them clear and clutter free. I believe Launcher Pro lets you hide them though. It's tacky that Verizon rapes you with all the bloat and doesn't even have the sack to offer free trials or the opportunity to delete them.

I loved the Star-Tac. They're still selling some on the auction site.

Every other Motorola product since has sukt bals, but that's another thread.

Got my Inc2 tonight, mindlessly said OK when it asked to update, then realized it was Gingerbread and now I can't root and tether. But that's another thread too.
