Do you need a Screen protector?

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has Gorilla glass. Therefore, does it still need a screen protector?

What do you think guys?

To be honest, I had invisible shield at my Galaxy for a month. After that it was full of dust and I have decided to give it a shot without it. So now I use only Case mate Barely there and hope for best. So far no scratches.

i think screen protectors just look bad, and like mentioned above, collect dust, start to peel off around the edges, and could give ur phone a cheap feel/look. i think that the gorilla glass would handle anything reasonable.. if u take care of ur phone, u wont have a problem. i used an ipod touch for 3 years, n it lived in my pocket.. i was fairly careful n never had a scratch on the screen, although the shiny back was covered with marks

No screen protector is tougher than Gorilla Glass. So NO. Screen protectors make the display look imperfect.

I've never used a screen protector or case. When do you get to enjoy the "newness" of the phone? haha

i bought the barely there case for my s2, also had this on my galaxy s before. I felt it offered to little protection, corners are uncovered and also the screen is completely bare. My wife bought the official samsung leather case for my old galaxy s, it was

Just depends on you. Gorilla glass is not 100%. The GS2 has one of the most buttery smooth screens I have ever used. I hate putting a screen protector on it. But I hate scratches even more. Right now I have the SGP Ultra optics. I have ran naked in the past as well.

Just say no.

What's the point of having a good looking phone with a screen that feels great and then buggering up these two important features? I have never seen a screen protector that didn't look and feel rubbish.

I couldn't have said it better. Screen protectors are crap, they look like crap, and feel like crap. And finally, they DO NOT protect the screen from ANYTHING.

While what you all say is true for the most part, I purchased an SGP ultra oleophobic screen protector, not so much for protection but for the prevention of oil buildup. I had no protector for about a week before applying it and I can only say positive things about the SGP Ultra Oleophobic. It doesn't make the screen look cheap and also prevents oil very well!

I would totally disagree. I bought this oleophobic screen protector and i have to say it`s TOTAL CRAP! i`m very dissapointed, just waste of money. U need to clean the screen everytime u just touch phone cause it`s all covered with very visible fingerprints which looks really bad. I took it off after 3 days and have to say that gorilla glass naked is way better! So deffo i wouldn`t recommend this screen protector and i`m pretty sure that others aren`t better...

i did try various screen protectors and initially thought they were great, didnt detract from the screen, then i took it off and wow, i then remembered how gorgeous this screen is, thy do take away from it in my opinion. Thats why i bough the flip over case, to make sure it stays this way as i am on a 2 yr contract,
