Root Do You Need/Want The Droid X .SBF File?

Would like to have this myself seeing how I'm finally starting to make tweaks and adding themes to my Droid X.

I'm not sure, im downloading it anyways. I have one click root and a black notification bar, I don't know if I will need the sbf in able to get froyo.

Motorola has sent out numerous C&D letters regarding the SBF.

DO NOT post links to the SBF on this forum or request a link via PM.

Anyone posting links from this point forward will be given an infraction or banned.

Not only can I not find an SBF, but I also can't find any good instructions on how to flash it. How does something as silly as a Cease and Desist letter from a manufacturer completely put the skids on future development?

I hate to draw comparisons to Apple, but how could you not? My phone, my choice...

Well I have searched the forums Ive searched the web and I too havent found a good set of instructions on how to flash the .SBF file. Can anyone help???

Yep, the SBF is mighty hard to find. And even if I had one I wouldn't know what to do with it. Would need some good instructions. It sure would be nice if there was a good wiki site for this whole topic -- would make things easier on us newbies. I would probably call it root-wiki.com ...or rootswiki.com -- No, wait...wait,,, that sounds way too close to another site called something like rootzwiki. Yeah, Rootzwiki.com - that name is already taken. Too bad, I'd name my site that. Yup.

Wait, the SBF you guys are talking about is the one released for the OTA 2.2, right? I though that was only a *partial* SBF that would restore the System but not your entire phone if you screwed things up? There isn't a true SBF for the OTA 2.2 yet, is there?

Most of those posts went up well before OTA 2.2 came out. They were talking about the 2.1 sbf. I havent heard anything about a full OTA 2.2 sbf, just the system 2.2 sbf. Hopefully a full one will be out soon

I'm not sure I get it, all the .sbf files seemed to be available for download here sbf:milestone [And Developers] with links to Motorola's site ?

What I'm trying to do is extract the wpa_supplicant from an .sbf file to replace the one I erased by mistake...don't ask!

If anyone needs the gift file let me know via email bobwiedeke84@gmail.com. I've got it on my home PC and I won't be home till about 5p.m. Eastern but I'm a nice guy and will be more than happy to share seeing how Moto isn't.
