DO yous suggest rooting with the latest froyo OORR..... rooting w GB? I am reading about "problems" when it comes to rooting with GB. I woould assume if you root w Froyo...really no probs.
If root w GB is Z4root good to use, or is that primarily for froyo. I'm new to rooting(havent done it yet).

Also, anyone have a list of roms to download. Are roms different then themes?

UDG is a big help.

I would say go with rooted GB, I personally have had no problems with it, it has been running very smooth on my phone.

You can't root the OTA GB, so currently you have to flash a two part zip to get rooted GB.

Themes are just aesthetic changes, ROMs change functionality usually (Apex removes all Blur for instance).

i am running unrooted GB now. Do I have to downgrade to the latest FROYO, then use the 2 part root of GB?
OR-
The 2part root access is on top of the GB i have now?

I'd say Rooted GB as well. I haven't had any problems yet, but I just did it yesterday. Like CJ said, just SBF to .340 and install the 2 updates.zip. Use z4root to root. Easy and fast.

Yeah, you will have to SBF back to .340, then do the 2 part update.

You familiar with SBFing?

Yes, I am familiar with SBFing. I had to get my DX up to speed so that I could receive the GB.(i needed to install .340-to get GB). Saying that, wouldn't I do the same as I did to get to the .340 even though I am in GB now. I have the RSD 4.9 lite already. Is that what I need to get to .340? Go into "bootload" i think and do it all the same as I did to GET to .340? Make sense? sorry if it doesnt, sorta new to want to ROOT. I got to dable with the process of getting my phone up-to-date, wasnt bad at all.
Now that I have the DX i want to experience the ROOT world.

I agree with the other "experts". ;) Sbf back to froyo .340, root it with z4, then flash the two part GB patch and your rooted. Make sure you flash using DROID 2 BOOTSTRAP!! not Droid X Bootstrap. Feel free to ask more questions.
