Androidcentral's review of DX2. They also noted lags, slow downs in UI and seem to believe Blur is responsible for it.

Droid X2 review | Android Central

The device is fine if above about 70mb or higher (VERY loose estimate). The problem is sustaining that ram cushion all the time. Even with the scripts, it is not sustainable.

Blur IMO is not the problem, but either lower than advertised RAM or poorly designed firmware IS the problem. Blur takes no more CPU % than other launchers, but takes up about 20ish more mb of ram. Small price IMO for a nice interface.

RAM is the culprit and makes the Flash issues also make more sense. Android Central thought the device generally worked great, but another review that has apparently not spent a lot of time using the device over time. I appreciate using a review device for a few days is not always practical though.

I like it too, but returned it and will wait to see if the issues get fixed. The final straw was a spontaneous reboot while updating a few apps in the market. The device does not seem stable ATM. Not sure if the reboots have anything to do with the memory, but accumulating lag, Flash issues, mp3 pops and spontaneous reboots are enough to make me wait and see if things get corrected with Gingerbread. Though I was getting some spontaneous reboots while playing Flash and some MP4 files, the market reboot was a new one.

That I put up with the issues so close to the return window is a tribute to the DX2's potential- just need the issues fixed.

Added: I miss the DX2's nice display and my Inc's is hard to adjust to again. Still better than the Revolution's display, at least.

Sorry to see you leave DX2 that you liked. I think Moto was onto something when they gave Atrix 1Gb of massive RAM. Original Bionic was criticized by many for its 512Mb RAM though I didn't think it would be problem. DX2 is really Bionic minus LTE in the DX form factor. I can see why they had to ditch original Bionic design, just can't imagine adding LTE radio to the DX2 hardware when it struggles with low memory, flash videos with just 3G radio.
As you might aware, Droid 3 and Bionic are finally on horizon now and Moto is going with OMAP4 to avoid Tegra2 issues they had.

Yep. I would still prefer a Gingerbread updated (and issued fixed) DX2 over the D3 (love the 4.3" display and do not need a KB), but would consider the 4.5" Bionic. The issue there of course is how the battery life will be sustained with the OMAP 4, LTE and a higher res 4.5" display. I can already predict battery life will be a main point for discussion.

Not to mention size, since the DX2 was my threshold. If I had Micheal Jordan hands, no prob, but I have normal sized hands. The DX2 was a nice device to hold, due to balance shape and balance.

Thinking about the D3 though, if the KB was truly amazing and worked well with game emulators and had 16gb internal......

Seems the D3 will probably be July and the Bionic (late) August- JUST in time for 4G tiered ;) :(

Just my guesses on the dates. Added: I hope sooner. If the the Bionic has the dual core OMAP, we could see it in July. If a quad- this device is not hitting until late Q4 (at best).
