Does "Mobile Data" toggle mean 4G only, or include 3g/2g?

I have a verizon S3 (not sure if that matters), but as we all know, there's a toggle (when you pull down the notification screen) for "Mobile Data".

My question is - does this only affect the 4G antenna, or does it also control the 3g/2g antennas?

So basically, if I'm connected to wifi, and if I toggle this off, will it turn off all of 4g/3g/2g?

yes mobile data would turn off data period it does not matter if its 4g 3g or 2g.

All I see is, when I'm home connected to wifi, and I pull down my notification screen, I still see "Mobile Data" being on.

Also I've read various webpages and forum threads on battery life, and they mention to turn off 4g etc when wifi connected, so I assume that's not automatic.

Exactly, as far as lte good I can't confirm, but when connected to Wi-Fi, you'll notice there isn't an active 3g connected via taskbar.

The pull down will still say data is on, but an active Wi-Fi connection temporarily disable the carrier data connection.

Concerning leaving Wi-Fi on, it drains more battery if you leave Wi-Fi on when your not connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you are connected, it saves battery.

That's only on Windows phone as far as I know.

Yeah, look at the statusbar when wifi is CONNECTED. Mobile data will be auto disconnected :thumbup:

If you turn Mobile Data completely off then App that need Mobile Data will not work even if on Wi-Fi. Example MMS.
