Root Does New Update break Root????

Do this for me:

connect via adb to the device (adb wait-device i think)
then
adb shell

then pop this in there:
Code:
find /mnt -iname '*' > /sdcard/exclude
find /sdcard -iname '*' >> /sdcard/exclude
cd /
tar -zcvf /sdcard/root.tgz / -X /sdcard/exclude

it will make /sdcard/root.tgz and post that file, will probably be more complete.

it will work from a regular android terminal app as well, except you gotta type it on a tiny screen.

Try replacing /sdcard/ with /mnt/sdcard/

Also just try find to see if maybe just the command itself can't be run, in wich case you can just run the tar command without the --exclude switch and parameter after it

I was just trying to make it smaller

Hope not. We're the only people trying to clean their mess when all we ever wanted was the unmodified android build to begin with. These 3rd party mods they do are the reason android versions don't just get updated around the same time on all phones and create bugs

It's not to break root just yet, i'm comparing stuff to make a list of changes first. See what I can make of it. See if I can get any clues first.

any chance you can post the following folders? :

/system/bin
/system/app
/etc
