Our little Shih Tzu money pit Isabella has, for years, enjoyed hanging out the window of my SUV on slow roads (less than 25 MPH), enjoying the air and the view.
She's deaf: so here I am, after picking her up from the doggy boarding place (which she loves) and taking her home for some treat food. You can see me signing to her that we're going home to eat. Then she did something she's never done before: climbed out of the window and jumped!
The Darling Bride was sure I took the turn too fast and flung her out... but the dashcam video vindicated me. It was deliberate and there was nothing there that she would be going after!
I didn't even know she was gone until I got home a mile away, opened the back door to find no doggie. It was a frantic search - and we couldn't call her because she wouldn't hear anything!
Needless to say that she paid for that face-plant with lots of dental work (and we paid dearly for it, too).
Just WOW, Chief. Can't believe she took off like that. Maybe there was a squirrel taunting her from the woods. But so glad she's OK (and that you were vindicated). The Court of Wifely Opinion could have sent you to The Chair (or at least The Dog House).
