So, later this week I should have my new phone. Still deciding on the Moto G or Optimus F7, either way I shall be moving on from this phone. I appreciate all the work some of you have contributed. You made me enjoy what the Force was meant and should have been like. :adore:

Now, on to important issues. I thought about selling my Force, but they aren't going for much used, and mines a bit dinged up from where it was used to begin with when I purchased it. I am willing to donate my phone to the greater cause of this phones development and for those that still have and want this phone to be the best it can be. If you are highly interested, I will send you my phone, free of charge but only if you are serious in the development of ROMs and etc for this phone.

Thank you for your time, I was a proud owner of this phone :proud:

I'm going to be donating my phone too since the screens cracked but functional. Also I broke something to do with the security that doesn't let you use this phone with Google wallet for NFC purchases anymore. I will be getting the optimus f7 since you can get it for a little over a hundred in good condition on eBay, IMO it's better than the moto g, but I will be giving my mom a choice on those two phones for her too.

I bought the Moto G, should be here in a few days. I just liked it so much better.

This is still up for donation if a DEV wants it.

I've never really developed a ROM, I've created mods for indie games, developed websites and getting a degree in Network Systems Management equivalent to a CCNA.
I want to play around with another Boost Force so I can learn a little more about ROMs and making them, I've just been scared of messing up my phone, especially since my phone is my main point of contact for me.

I will be donating mines as soon as I get enough money for my phone. Mother's day is coming up though and my mom's birthday in the same pay week, so it might be another pay week till I get mines and will be able to send my force off. Just gotta wait a bit.

BTW adam, what did you end up getting? I would get the moto g but the fact it has no SD slot without adding one to the USB port killed it for me. I will be getting the f7.

I got the Moto G. I love it and the 3G gets speeds identical to 4G. I think they just got lazy and didn't want to add the transition logo for 3G to 4G and just pretended it's 3G only. I can't tell the difference. As for the SD card issue, I just use the USB port to transfer files when I am full. Which I haven't filled up yet. SuperR released a minimal version of KitKat like he did for Boost and the bloat free ICS.. It runs like a dream. The original stock update to KitKat made this phone sluggish.

I have a 32 GB card that may need to be upgraded to 64. Transferring files is not an option. Can you run a speed test for 3g and post a snapshot here?

well, my phone is my only source of contact other than direct contact, and my only internet source. making and testing roms isnt really risky as long as you know a few key things though

first is something i think everyone should do anyway, make a backup with cwm or an equivalent, and TEST IT, also may want to keep a stock rom flashable on hand just in case, once thats done any damage done to the rom is completely reversable

the next thing is the flashables, when working with a flashable you made or something for a different device you need to check the edify scripts, if it says to install on the wrong partitions and you run it you will destroy the phone, but as long as it doesnt overwrite anything but boot and system, the kernel and the rom, you can always boot back into a custom recovery and go right back to the backup or flash a fresh copy of a rom

mind you, your phone will be offline during the backup process, restore process, flashing process, and at any time you are running a rom that wont load or has broken phone functionality, but if you can stand to take it offline from time to time when you want to test thats not really an issue

also, same basic rules apply to working with recoveries for those interested in messing with that area, when the rom or boot image break, the recovery can save you, when the recovery breaks the rom can save you, just never break them both at the same time verify one is working before you mess with the other and never mess with both at once, ive seen many people flash a rom then switch recoveries and just be bricked because they did both at once and both went horribly wrong

also on the donation topic i know you ended up selling it but appreciate the offer all the same. on the speed note i dont know i get 1MB/s download speeds on 4g sometimes more... 3g maxes out at like 300KB/s if youre perched on top of the tower lol

Here's the 3g speed I am getting. That's not 3g, I swear..

I've actually had faster 3g speeds with sprint right before my area got hit with lte.

Consider yourself lucky that it's even above 500kbps lol if you was getting your under 2mbps on lte signal, then I'd consider that horrible :P

Think I remember my top 3g speed topped at 3mbps

My 4G went up to 65Mb/sec a few times..:D Downloaded A 300Mb ROM in 6 seconds flat. No BS

yea that right there is about 200KB/s download speeds, sprint average for 3g. 3g throttled tho is 35KB/s cap, as is 4g thottled which is ridiculous if you ask me, 30 mins of 4g per month kuz thats all it takes to use up the 2.5gb, then switched to almost unusable speeds using only about 2% of your original bandwidth

Sprint throttles 4g now? Before I dropped sprint, I was using 50-100gb of data a month (tethered to 2 laptops and ps3) and my data speeds never dropped below 20mbps.

well, boost does anyway i dont know about sprint. they started just this month, i let my monthly bill lapse too long tho last month so when i paid it they treated it like a new account basically, only difference is they didnt raise my bill luckily. after 2.5gb you get dropped to about 300kbps and its completely and utterly useless

that being said its not the best throttling ive ever seen, tends to fail under heavy load, right now im getting 300KB/s down instead of 30 lol

Ahh okay, I'm with Verizon now but my lady has the moto g with boost she streams Netflix and YouTube a lot. Think I might check what her down speeds are for the heck of it. Pretty sure she's passed the 2.5gb mark.

I bought my mom the moto g today :) late bday present (may 6th) early mother's day gift. On my next pay check I'll probably get the optimus f7. For now I have to play around with this baby!

netflix on a 3g connection?!? you sure shes not using wifi kuz that seems like itd drive me nuts, i cant even stand to watch youtube on the throttled stuff but netflix i dont think i could do that on the unthrottled 3g

Just did a speed test on her g, right below 4mbps more than enough to easily stream Netflix.

As of now no throttling for her at least.

huh, nice. i always thought netflix streaming took more than a 3g connection could handle, without destabilizing anyway. of course, i have never used netflix lol
