Dorimanx kernel - Dummies Guide

No problems to report with Dorimanx 7.39 on the NEAT ROM, Jelly Bean, XXLSJ. On Extreme_battery and BLN. Very smooth and fast. :)

Same here buttery fast. Best one I've used for me on default settings and profile.

I always like testing kernel first on default to get a baseline. Then start checking other settings. But truth be told it's tuned fine for me on default.

:)

I was having random freezes, and crashes on my own profile (basically extreme performance) on 7.39. I've gone completely the other way to exteme battery profile with BLN enabled, CPU idle to IDLE only.

So far so good. Power hungry (should read "all consuming"), CPU, and I would imagine GPU intensive Sygic sat-nav takes a little longer to open, but works well and as it always did. The added bonus is other than that I'm not experiencing any detrimental effects to performance that I've noticed and my battery is a little better (not that that bothers me from a personal point of view).

Seems to be pretty much the same setup I had where I was getting random reboots.

I'll see how Jeboo fares with me for the next day or two, and perhaps go back to Dori with default profile+BLN.

I too came unstuck a few times recently with Dori due to lock ups and reboots. I have reverted back to the latest Jeboo which is performing very well. May stick with this for the foreseeable future and just enjoy a working phone!

Dorimanx-V7.40 is up. I would post the changelog, but that would make things too easy on hawker and ironass. :D

There is a distinct lackadaisical attitude creeping into this forum I fear! :hmpf:

Dorimanx kernel v7.40 for ICS-JB-MALI-CM10.1-JB-LEAK is up! :)

"Change Log:

*Voku ported SCHED CORE code to boost performance.
*Voku ported fix for MEM Leak in MMC driver.
*Voku and me tuned the lowmemkiller code.
*Added new OOM low mem control to STweaks in I/O and OOM tab!
*Fixed AFTR only setting for JB SAMMY ROMS.
*Alucard24 helped testing many stuff
*Added new function to update CPU GOV tuning in real time from STweaks!
before that we had to turn the screen OFF and ON to push new tuning. not any more!

*Added many fixing in INIT boot scripts, all about permissions and bug fix.
effect all platforms.
*Made Kernel config sync with JB SAMMY source (all the OK stuff!)
*Made change in exynos ram security patch to allow fimc0
this can fix the video player in JB Sammy, need to TEST.
*Added fix for HOME KEY if user want to install Other kernel, then seek it in Backup/Restore Tab, just push the button and reboot, install other kernel and be happy.

*Added warning if ROM busybox is old and dont have wget, and all the check/update function in Stweaks will tell that busybox not supported, and not that you dont have internet when you do
*Max Gamma is 23 no more! and now MIN gamma is 1 so screen will not be too dark. any way controls are in STweak Screen Tab.
*TouchScreen freq min is 100Mhz! 0 cant be used, it's brake the CPU code. FIXED.

UPDATE Initial impression is very good. Camera and video working. MX Player and PowerAmp both good. No lag or stutter. Menus are fast and scrolling is slick and very smooth. Battery life is absolutely amazing parag1dubey! ;)

This update is the best one yet for LSJ rom. users:):)

My installation method was I flashed hawkerpauls kernel clean GS2KernelWipe 2.0 (link in signature)

Flashed latest kernel. Rebooted recovery and fixed permissions

Looks like our roms busybox is up to date cause I can change settings in STweaks :)

But will test on default settings and profile as always ;)

To start AFTR is applied by default on LSJ so the script is working so no more Manuel change for us anymore to prevent sound issues :)

- Stock video indeed working but it was working since yesterday from that fix I recommended so can't really confirm. :)

- wifi hotspot seems to be working again and won't turn off when data is on:)

- Video recording and Camera working :)

- RAM seems decent:)

- And love seeing new tab to fix home button for users jumping on to another kernel :D. :)

I personally won't use it myself and hopefully a lot of LSJ users won't either after using this badboy:p:D;)

Kernel feels fast and smooth and snappy.

Well done Dori, Voku, Alucard24 :):thumbup:

This one is a keeper and milestone for LSJ users. It may have broke something for other roms but has fixed everything for LSJ :D

guys to install this dorimnax kernel is it necessary that i use gs2 kernel wipe...
m on xxlsj neatrom 4.1.2... and the cwm app is missing after i updated to dis.. help please

I'm currently more than happy with Jeboo. It hasn't put a foot wrong for me.
But I'll give 7.40 a go, just to see if I get the random reboots that I was getting on 7.39.
If I don't I might just keep it for the BLN.
:)

Flash PhilZ kernel to get CWM recovery, using posts #1 & #2, here.

i did as i was told... i flashed the signed version to get rid of the triangle...
neither worked.. triangle is still there and cwm is not... and the memo app is not working.. how do i get it to work had some important stuff in there

How very odd!

Try it again with the PhilZ .tar file, as previously, and this time use Triangle Away from the Play Store to remove the yellow triangle.

Failing that, after a nandroid and Titanium Backup's, re-flash NEAT ROM XXLSJ, Jelly Bean, again using the instructions for, "Installation without wipe", here. If you flashed the NEAT ROM LITE version, this has a great many of the system app's removed. I do not know if Memo is one of them as I am on the Full version.

Hate the default screen colors on latest dori. That's gonna need some playing with in st tweaks

Just a thought old sloth... are you running the JB Power Saving mode in conjunction with Doirmanx?

No doubt Hawker knows the definitive, boffin, answer to this but it appears that Dorimanx scripts override the Jelly Bean Power saving mode, certainly on SCALING_MAX_FREQ.

well i guess the full version doesn't bring back the memo after backing this up.. i tried to restore my old uhlps version of neatrom.. that didn work too :(... i will try and reflash.. thanks anyway

Thanks for the heads up ironass.. Already experiencing better battery life than I ve ever had on 7.39.. 2 hours 33mins screen on, 17 hours and battery is down to 40 percent only! Flashing 7.40 now on your recommendation, old chum.. Cheers :)

P.S.,.. I agree with you about the lackadaisical attitude...Initiative folks.. Initiative.. ;)

Ironass, congrats on breaking out of the mold and commenting on battery life within the space of a few hours rather than letting the kernel "bed in" ;)

No no, switched off. It's actually the opposite, too bright and garish. No biggy though, otherwise all as smooth and silky as my wife's legs.

Btw dubey, be wary of ironass's very British sarcastic wit

Guess I'll be going back onto Jeboo then!

Don't think for a minute that I am unaware of ironass's wiles.. At any rate, we at India, have experienced British wit for a LOOOOOOONGGG time, so we are used to it, if you know what i mean ;) Commonwealth and all that sort of rot :D

7.40 working flawlessly but power saving not working, same with screen mode. That's the way it should be or is it just me?
