Dorimanx kernel - Dummies Guide

Back to flashing a new version of Dori every other day it is then! It's a wonder anyone gets any reliable battery readings as you never get the time to let the kernel settle :)

I have flashed it after having had the previous version for a day. Just as smooth and no problems so far so go for it.

after flashing this kernel, my music player messed up. my headphones gives me static and the music acts weird. how to go back to philz? any link?

Does anyone else feel that battery life was better on Dori 7.37 rather than 7.38???

Absolutely no idea parag1dubey :) 7.37 was not on my phone long enough to compare. The only thing I have noticed is the RAM leak issue that had been fixed in 7.38 has stopped random freezing and 'jittering' I was experiencing eith 7.37.

And you think, ironass, that you ll have 3-4 days to let 7.38 bed in before 7.39 comes knocking our doors??? ;)

Lol. That's true. :D. But best battery questions is becoming boring for me to hear.

We live in a age where there is a power socket or usb at hand. :)

I have two stock batteries myself and just swap between the two and average at least over days use on the latest Dorimanx beta. Depending if i let my phone rest and go into deep sleep. :D

We are more focused on stability and making sure all the important things are working.

Battery is decent. Now focus tests in other areas.

hey guys need help...
its been a long time since i changed my rom.. currently i am on ics 4.0.3 , siyah kernel v3.3.2 and UHLPS neatrom lite..
i wanna change it dorimanx v7.37... all i gotta do is jus download the file and install it using cwm, is that right or anything else need to be done..is dat GS2 KERNEL WIPE necessary??

@TBR (;) ) , I envy you, mate.. But I am still at the point where I get 2 hrs screentime... Its getting better though, so I may soon be at the point where battery life is no longer the prime consideration :)

You see you don't fall into the category of normal users. That shows there is something wrong with your setup. It's not the kernel.

Maybe consider backup everything via titanium and use Hawks fantastic rom nuke script. :)

That's part of my personal tools I use when doing full wipe installations of rom and have done for quite a while now. :)

For all guides to this on how I use it you can view on my xda account.

Or just have look here at hawks thread here.

On Dorimanx 7.39 the stock video player appears not to be working in some ROM's, as per Dorimanx's post, here. Will be fixed in next release.

Works fine for MX Player though! :)

I'm on jeboo for the time being as I'm getting quite a lot of random reboots on Dori.

Having same issue. Default settings with only using BLN changes... get either a reboot or freeze about every 3 or 4th time I pick up the phone and use it... plus I really need wifi hotspot because I travel alot

Solution to wifi hotspot will be on next release as Dorimanx stated from feedback he will use the same wifi driver that in siyah version 6.0b4 that GM ported from SG3.

About both your reboots. I suggest as debug. Both of you reset your profile and see how it goes.

Of course have cpu idle set to AFTR.

That's the only change I have made.

Then if all is fine bit by bit put back your tweaks so you can find the trigger.

Then report back your findings on Dorimanx thread.

If issues still occur on default profile and settings still then go back to last known working version and see and if you still face issues then it's a problem on your side.

A kernel clean would be order and worst case a full wipe. :)
