Help Double Screen Lock?

I am really annoyed with this double lock business. How does one go about downgrading to the previous OS so I can disable all locks, and then upgrade again so I can just have my pattern lock?

Dang, I was so used to just pressing the home key or the power button to access the phone, now after updating and doing a factory reset the option is gone. Weak

Again, how does one revert back to the previous Firmware so I can set the Droid-x to no lock, then upgrade to Froyo and have just the pattern lock? Or is this not possible?

It's not possible with this build of Froyo. You can either have keyguard lock or both keyguard lock plus patter/pin. Reset won't change that. :(

So, I wrote to Verizon support about the problem, and they gave me a number to call Motorola. The Motorola tech told me to do a factory reset. So, I tried it, and it did not fix the problem, and now I am re-installing all my apps. Sigh.

I was just going to ask if that worked for anyone.

Can't get rid of the slide lock at all now that I did the reset. Before, I could turn off all security and there was no slide lock, and when I turned on Pattern, I had both.
Grrr.

I had that same problem after a factory rest. At least I had a nandroid I could flash too to get rid of it.

I got the impression that they have heard several complaints about this lock situation, so I would think if they heard from more folks, it would be likely that they patch this on the next upgrade. I made sure when I talked to both Verizon and Motorola that I wanted a complaint about this filed.

I was hoping the updated to 2.2.1 would resolve this screen lock issue, but it still appears to be an issue, unless somebody here found a new work-around.
