Root Downgrade & Root issues

2. Place the stock 1.32 PD98IMG.zip on the root of your SDcard/Goldcard
where do you put the file ? I put it on my SDcard and extracted it is that right ?

4. Open the file in the folder named "RUN THIS FOR DOWNGRADE". The command prompt will opn and begin to do the adb steps for you.

5. You should see a white bootloader screen, press the power button to enter the bootloader and it should automatically start to detect the PD98IMG.zip file. when I do this I get no image or wrong image ? any help would be great

No, you should not extract the .zip file. Just take the .zip as it is and put it on your card. Don't put it inside any folders or rename it or anything either - just drag and drop it onto the card :)

Hello,

I am trying to do the downgrade on my T-Mobile HTC G2. However, I get to the last part where I need to do the white screen bootloader and I don't think it is picking up the Zip file that I copied into the SD Card? I had to create a director in the SD Card called "Goldcard" and then I pasted the Zip file in there. On the white screen, I go to
"bootloader" and press the power button. From there, I press the volume up but nothing happens? I then press the power button on "Fastloader" in which after a couple of seconds, My screen attempts to run something and I quickly see "unable to find image or file" then it goes back to the previous selections of "Fastloader", "Reboot Bootloader", "Img Src", etc? I don't know if it worked or not so then I attempted the installation of the Visionary+ but when I click on the Temp root and my phone does the same thing it did before I goldcarded my SD card in which it attempts to root but I don't think anything actually happens and my phone lags until I reboot or uninstall the Visionary+? Also, when I go to the emulator, I can't type "SU" because of a permission denied?

Otherwise, you programs that type the code seem great.

Any suggestions?

I created my goldcard, I got to the bootloader and it was reading the zip file and then I got this message:

"Main Version is older! Update Fail!"

Any idea how to get around this. I have a Telus Desire HD running 2.3.3

Thanks

I get the same problem with my Three UK DHD. It's software number is 2.50.405.2 (build number CL87995 release-keys).

Any idea what the problem is?

EDIT: Tried everything again and I went for the manual way to downgrade. After step adb shell /data/local/tmp/misc_version -s 1.31.405.3 I get an error message saying "patching and backing up partition 17. error opening backup file".

I think this is the reason why the update fails. Any idea why I am getting an error opening the backup file?

finally managed to get it!! :D

one more question, why I try and install cymongen rom and tick all 3 boxes it reboots and I get a red triangle with a exclamation mark  any ideas ? cheers

Did you get S-OFF & install Clockwork etc? You need to tap the top option in ROM Manager, let it flash the latest Clockwork (5.0.2.0) and then download and install CM7.

As an aside, the latest version of CWM hasn't been tested thoroughly, so you might want to use a known working version 3.0.2.6. Scroll to the bottom of ROM Manager, hit "All ClockworkMod Recoveries" and select 3.0.2.6.
