Root Downgrade to ZVB?

Ok, so I just tried out ZVD but I love Arctic 1.1 by ldrifta too much so I decided to downgrade. When I searched the steps to downgrade, it looked like a headache, while I was prepping by downloading and reading the instructions, I wondered if...

I could just use one of my CWM backups to downgrade to ZVB the same way i upgraded to ZVD, and it apparently worked? My SW version is MS910ZVB-M7X30-AABBQMLYM-4040.

So am I back to ZVB free and clear?

I'm wondering if it really worked or if it's going to be buggy. I wonder this because if it does work, then why all the extra steps in gbiggie's thorough guide?

edit:
I think I figured out why. It's because you need to root first, so that you can put a custom recovery on it. biggie's post was about downgrading from unrooted ZVC without a custom recovery. My bad.

You have to downgrade via the guide.

It's not hard, it's just a lot of things to download. The steps are actually very easy after that. I did the same thing and thought the same thing. Doesn't take long at all.

I used a CWM backup I made to downgrade to ZVB and it seems to be working. Is there something wrong with my phone?

Early on when the esteem was just getting rooted the downgrade was the only option to root until the GODS came up with a way to root ZVC . My understand was that the hardware version can only be changed via an update with the LG tool or a downgrade via the thread. Iknow you said in the op that it does indeed say ZVB now but does everything reflect ZVB in "about phone"? The only way to tell is to act like you wish to update to ZVD via the support tool and see if it sees your phone as ZVB. Is there something wrong with your phone..please share..contests BTW you are now a tester ;)

So far, nothing is wrong with my phone yet.

I can't do gbiggie's steps because my computer freezes when I try to "RESET PERMISSIONS ON ALL CHILD OBJECTS AND ENABLE PROPAGATION OF INHERITABLE PERMISSIONS."

By the way, why are we changing permissions of all the child objects? Can't we be more specific to the actual child objects (programs) that need to be changed? I don't really want to change all of the permissions.

Anyways, I don't understand why using a backup to downgrade to ZVB wouldn't work. That's the way I changed to ZVD, by using a CWM backup file. Don't backups just flash the image of the whole phone?

My understanding of why this wasn't possible before was because people were unable to boot into recovery with ZVC because there was no method to root ZVC which means no custom recovery and no way to use a backup file. Right?

Anyways, It's working exactly as it was before I did the upgrade to ZVD and downgrade to ZVB. I realized that ZVD roms are far from complete so I'm sticking with a complete rom until then. My ZVB doesn't have any reboot issues. Well, it did, but I figured out that for my phone, it doesn't like staying below 300MHz for too long. That's what was causing reboots for me, and after I set min to over that, it worked perfectly fine. I think maybe 1-2 reboots in the past month or so.

I don't remember having to change permissions when I did the downgrade. I downloaded the files and did the couple of steps and was done. The longest part was the phone actually installing the software which took about 20 mins, everything else took about 10.

And you may veryy well be able to downgrade via just running a backup of a ROM that was in that software. I don't know, I haven't tried. I just did it the right way so that doubt isnt in the back of my mind of my phone collapsing all of a sudden.

I checked with LGMobile Support Tool and I got:

So, I'm good, right? Testing success? :D
