Root Downgraded to brick

Lurker
I followed the instructions on this post LGNPST Lab 1.2 (Better than my fix) at http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-m/254250-lgnpst-lab-1-2-better-than-my-fix.html and the process through LGNPST went all the way to 100% and claimed to be complete. I then reset my phone by holding the home key/down volume/power which I had to take the battery out first to get it to turn off. This resulted in the phone playing the sound "metropcs hello hello etc" but then nothing else happened after that the screen gets brighter and the buttons light up when you press one of them but nothing appears on the screen.

I followed the downgrade directions a second time with LGNPST having the same results saying that it completed but was left with the same state of my phone.

Did I do something wrong?

Is there a way to fix my phone and get it to version 2.2?

Any help would be great

Thankyou

Yes there is. By doing the LGNPST thing correctly. I've flashed many many phones in the manor that I laid out in that tutorial and never once experienced what you are describing. This post sounds almost exactly like a PM I got earlier today. I'm pointing towards user error on both counts.

A few more things to take into consideration:

Are you actually attempting this on a Optimus M?

Do you have the proper drivers to even connect your phone to the computer? If not get this: http://www.mediafire.com/?dbwm27tr8xmjzmh

Why are you starting a new thread for this when it could be posted in the actual existing thread?

Hmmm...just as I thought. A one and done post to berate my downgrade process and then they're out. You wanted help so bad that as soon as I posted the correct solution you got off the forum.

I wasnt meaning to discredit your solution I was just stating that it did not work for me I am going to try again and thankyou for posting and reassuring me that it will work. I posted a seperate thread because I thought my problem may be shared by others and seemed unique to what I have seen so I thought someone else may have a solution not expecting the original author to post a solution or comments. I will update this with results and let people know if I get it working and am definitely not afraid to admit if it works and that I had made a previous mistake.
