Help download icons stuck in notification bar HELP!

Stuck downloading icons in notification bar. Have power cycled and even removed phone battery icons still show up. Dont want to do a reset. Any other suggestions for being rid of this? Just driving me crazy!

Did you press on the download icon after you pull down the notification bar? If you press on it, it should take you to a download screen, where you can cancel.

i should have made this more clearer...i was using ADW launcher and did not even have an option when pressing menu to clear notifications and pressing down on the download icon did not pull up a screen (while using ADW launcher home replacement app). So it is possible to clear notifications while using ADW launcher? seems that option when away with the latest update. I had to uninstall it
