In the event that I do update, is it possible to revert to 905??

No...you can't FXZ back to. 905 after installing the ICS OTA...to attempt to do so will BRICK your phone.

To the question you didn't ask, Yes you should update unless you use wired headphones all the time; then there is a chance you will get whine. Some have, some haven't.
