Downside to purchasing through Wirefly?

Hey Ari or Scott, I sent both Bing and Wirefly an email yesterday about my missing cashback. Bing responded with
"We thank you for reporting this issue to us and for the information you have given. After reviewing your order details, I have submitted your purchase information to Wirefly.com and will be working with them to validate your missing cashback. Please note, in some cases it may take up 72 hours for transactions to appear in your account and cashback may also not be credited until your order has shipped. I will contact you again as soon as I have an update regarding your purchase, and apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reply to this email and I will gladly continue to assist you."

So far no response from your support team. Do I just have to wait for Wirefly to confirm that I actually made a purchase for the cashback to get credited? Or are there further steps after that? Thanks.

Hopefully everything works out. Once My upgrade is available in July I will be using Wirefly again for the 4th time with no issues yet. Being out of stock is one of the many dangers when ordering online and as bad as you want this phone so did a lot of other people causing the issue. Just be patient. Wirefly will do what they have said and blowing them up with PM's and posts isn't going to speed it.
 
My phone is scheduled to arrive today. My T-Mobile number, which I guess is scheduled to be ported tomorrow (?), is still working fine. Is there a way to expedite activation/porting when I receive my phone later today? What instructions are included? Or will I have to wait until tomorrow, at the earliest, to use my new phone?

Can the phone be used over Wifi without activation?

Hi darweth, the port process will proceed automatically after you have received your phone, and it is best to give it time to do its initial full charge as you wait. Depending on the phone model, though, you should be able to use the device over WiFi prior to porting. Hope that helps.

If you began your session at Bing, and completed you order in the same session, you will see the $50 Cashback per phone appear in your Bing account within 48 hours after your phone is shipped. If you are past that window and don't see it in your Bing account, please send me a PM with your order number and I can look things up and make sure it is escalated with Bing to get your credit.

(This will save you a lot of time vs. the Bing contact form black hole.)
 
sfasu77, we are expecting a major shipment tomorrow. We do have a sizable number of orders awaiting EVOs, so we can only guarantee that your EVO will ship within the posted 20 days. I only wish I ordered at the cheaper price!!! I ordered mine on Friday of last week and it arrived on my doorstep this morning. My Bing has not posted but I did send a PM to Scott as he directed earlier. So for me....I am happy with their service so far.

well i'm jealous of you because i ordered on friday and was told i won't have it until thursday or friday.... come on now..... ugh this is so frustrating. I know they only have so much control over what they have in stock but their online shopping system should have an inventory tracker or SOMETHING...
 
Hope the rep who helped me at wirefly didn't lie about me receiving my phone 2-3 days after sprint approved me...I didn't put an order in at the store because I was told this
 
Yeah, my post was in no way complaint about their service. Approval and ship date on their end was very fast. As for the Bing cb, it could very well have been my fault. I didn't double check the top of their page to make sure the Bing CB banner was there(as I didn't know at the time). I am pretty sure I had closed all of my prior Wirefly windows and that the only one left was the one I was redirected to from Bing. Was just posting to see if I could do anything else on my end to expedite the process.

Nah...don't be jealous..Im old and fat. LOL but I am losing weight...but I can't do anything about the OLD part....
I'm not an expert...but I bet it has to do a lot with how Sprint responds to the order...from what I could see..your phone is not your phone until Sprint tells Wirefly its a good account...and that's out of their hands...and you can't ask them to hold the phones until the order is approved...so if there is a delay...it could be Sprint's fault..
That is what worried me....will Sprint respond in time? Will they sell out before my order is verified as OK by Sprint?? I guess I got lucky that Sprint was quick for me...I didn't read about your story and why you have to wait till tomorrow for Friday...Either way...I like the cashback and the discount and it was worth the wait.

I ordered off contract at 12:19am ET on the 4th, it was shipped same day and I'm sitting here anxiously waiting for it to arrive before 7pm today! :) Bing cashback posted 2 days later, well the confirmation did, now I just have to wait 60 days for bing to process my cashback.

overall, excellent experience with wirefly! :)

Well unfortunately i didn't get bing cash back because i don't bing. i google. HAHAHA. and sprint approved the order within about 5 minutes. and then I got a confirmation call from wirefly about 10 minutes later to confirm account info and said i would have it Tuesday........ here i'll show you the email i got from them.

Well, the Live rep said we are guarenteed shipment within 72 hours of ordering, so that would make an order made on Friday @ 8:42 pm EST... late as of this morning.

EXACTLY. so pissed off about this. I don't wait for things. I pay extra to get them sooner. If i knew this would happen i would have just gone to radio shack
 
We cannot guarantee shipment based on order date. As we have described, many orders never ship at all. Shipment is based on approval for activation by Sprint. Most orders approved by the carrier by 7:00pm are shipped the same day, unless we have an out-of-stock situation. Those have historically been rare, but the Incredible and the EVO have caught the whole cell phone world by surprise.

Yeah. mine was approved by 4:42pm...... and it still hasn't shipped...
 
Well, I'm not really in a rush. Was just curious why it took so long to approve. I thought approvals go on through the weekends too.

and you're shocked because.... hrmmm. lol. i've totally lost faith in this company. i mean i do understand the shortage, but they're not handling it professionally... i mean... shouldn't you expect that to happen? i mean they basically bought a 6 pack for beer pong... who does that??
