Downside to purchasing through Wirefly?

Do I get bumped to the top of the list due to an exchange? And will the phone try to auto-activate again, or do I just call Sprint this time to activate?

I ordered mine on Friday, June 4, received it Tuesday, June 8. All total: $140 (with Bing $50 rebate, no tax, no shipping fee), plus a free Renegade Bluetooth. Activated and running fine. Thanks Wirefly.

My phone is in on a truck for delivery right now. hope it's on my door step at lunch :-)

I called CS to exchange my Evo due to a dead pixel. Will this affect/slow the Bing cb process? The CS rep was also kind of vague as to how the activation would work on the 2nd Evo. Will it be auto-activated, or do I have to call Sprint to activate? The original Evo couldn't activate after 5 tries. Also, do I get bumped up in priority when you get new stock of Evos? Thanks for the additional info.

Hi KHSteel, please PM me your order number so that I can ask our escalated support team to give you a call. Thanks!

Well yay I finally received my EVO today. I was just leaving for lunch and caught FED EX. did anyone pay for next day and have it refunded? My card has been refunded but not charged the proper amount it was supposed to be charged... Anyone else have this issue?

Still no EVO. Status is still "Approved - Awaiting Inventory". Anyone else placed their order on launch day and still waiting or is it just me?
that's really messed up. i just got mine... and the samsung moment for line 2 for my bf... u should really complain... what a mess.....

just a note. Wirefly says you can't port your number or activate it early and not to call sprint.... well i got my phone before the active date, called them, and it's all fine...

I ordered mine on 6/9 (Wed), status is 'Approved - awaiting inventory'. Anyone on the same boat?

Am wondering, when is the next batch of EVOs coming to wirefly. Will I be able to get my hands on the EVO before end of this month?

Hey ramanan_n, we are told we will be getting a new shipment nearly every day next week, and should be able to fulfill all outstanding orders delayed because of out-of-stock issues in the very near future -- and certainly before the month's end.

Hi jmp4106, please be aware that Wirefly schedules your activation to occur after the phone arrives to absolutely ensure that you will not find yourself without service. As you were able to do, customers are sometimes able to expedite activation by contacting Sprint, but we do not recommend this. Quite simply, your Wirefly instant savings discount is tied to the commission that Wirefly receives for activating your rate plan.

If you call a Sprint representative and that person (against policy) removes the Wirefly dealer code, this would trigger a cancellation of the Wirefly order, and while we would attempt to reconcile this with Sprint, you would technically be responsible for the full cost of the phone (If that all seems silly and unnecessary, please be assured that we agree).

We certainly understand being anxious to get your new phone up and running, so if you must contact Sprint, please ask for assurances that the Wirefly dealer code will remain intact and unaltered. We also recommend connecting through WiFi to tide you over while you await the activation process to automatically complete after you've received your phone.

Hope this information is helpful.

I ordered Monday, was told via chat rep it's in stock on wed and it should be shipping soon. Today, they said it's OOS and it will be shipping next week. Nothing I can do but I am eager to get it obviously!

Anyway, Ari, if I have you guys port my numbers, do you port the numbers upon shipment or will they be ported AFTER the phones arrive to ensure I don't lose cell service. I've read stories that you've ported the numbers upon shipment and if fedex misses a delivery lets say on a Friday, the old phone has already been deact and the customer is phone less until the new one arrives. I've got 3 numbers I want to port and don't want to lose any service.

haner, numbers are porter automatically after you have received shipment to ensure that you do not experience a lapse in service.

so I guess the "we get shipments in everyday and the 20 day warning is just a disclaimer we HAVE to put, and you'll have your phone in 2-3 days" wasn't entirely true lol. O well should be shipped soon I hope :)

Hey Scott and Ari, just saying thanks for all the help. Bing cb came through, it's now pending in my acct. Wirefly escalation support also called me about my exchanged Evo, but unfortunately, it was on Friday and on my home line. I'll be able to get back to them on Monday. Great price on the phone, and although I've had some setbacks(none due to Wirefly), they did all they could to help make sure everything went smoothly.

First let me introduce myself, my name is Bo and I'm a recovering blackberry addict.

I ordered the EVO via Wirefly & they were great but being a recovering addict I couldn't wait, so I called a local Sprint store (they had 3 left). So now I'm posting from my new Evo.

Wirefly was great but I was forced to cancel my order with them and lose the all the savings. I dont see a downside to ordering thru Wirefly this phone is just super hot right now & back ordered everywhere

HELLO everyone.. Im an iphoneaholic. ordered through wirely after i sold my 3gs on the 5th, and im still approved awaiting inventory.. ARI any new news? are they shipping tomorrow? or should i cancel my order and get one from best buy on wednesday? thanks. anyone else still waiting for one they ordered on the 5th?

I'm trying to order the evo, and i'm the primary line on a family line. I don't wanna mess with my plan. It forces me to pick a plan when buying it, even though I choose "upgrade an existing contract".

I called wirefly and it was pretty funny... the guy on the line said "i'll tell you honestly, we get credit for placing orders. to order a phone thats on a family plan theres a whole procedure which is a secret, and i'm not gonna tell you unless you order from me. if you do i'll answer any questions"

haha, gotta give him props for his honesty.

Anyone know how to order it though, without messing with your plan?

Hi ShoxV, you can order a contract extension plan through Wirefly's upgrade site, and we'll correct the plan on our end. Truth be told, there's nothing top secret about it, and any agent would be happy to assist you.

I also ordered on the 9th. I can wait, because that's all we can do anyway, and it's good that Wirefly claims to be shipping orders out as fast as they can.

It would help me out to get it soon though because I'm in the middle of fanangling a phone replacement issue and I have only a few days left before Sprint says they're going to charge me extra, but I suppose I can deal with that too.

I haven't been able to get anywhere with whereismyorder.com though. The rep told me he couldn't access the queue and said to just keep checking the order status page.
