Downside to purchasing through Wirefly?

I did the purchase just after midnight PST but had to cancel the first and try again because the Bing cashback was not reporting properly. I see the banner at the top of their page with the $80 but viewing my cart shows only $50 and for just one phone, not both (purchased 2 EVO's). After canceling the first order I opened IE (first was done in FF) just in case of a compatibility issue, logged into my Bing account, searched WireFly and purchased the EVO's. STILL, it only showed the one phone getting $50, not $80. Then, at the receipt page, I clicked the link to give credit to my Bing Cashback account which then takes you to your login page but it showed $0 credit. Is this because the credit is actually applied when they CHARGE the card at the time of shipment?

I was extremely careful in how I did everything to make sure I got credit. The phones were $189.00 each and those figures worked out fine. Anyway, can you shed some light on this, Ari?
We are having a display problem with the promotional text that appears on these pages. It's supposed to say $80 and should be fixed by morning. Rest assured this text is not what determines the BCB amount. All orders placed since midnight will get $80 BCB per phone, up to $400 for a 5-line family plan, if the session started from a Bing.com cashback link.

Sincerest apologies for the confusion.

Ok, i'll go with that. So WHEN does the cash back get reported to Bing? Because my account showed no pendings or credits.

UPDATE: Ok, people. I ordered at 12:20 AM PST 2 EVO's. This morning at 9:03AM I get my approvals from Sprint via email from Wirefly and they will be ready to ship (in processing). I'm not exactly sure what that means but i'm assuming this indicates it's way ahead of the stated 2-3 weeks?

I ordered a few hours ago and got the same e-mails a couple of hours later. I wasn't actually expecting them to have it in stock and ready to ship, but I wanted to take advantage of the $80 Bing deal.

The credit will post to your Bing account within 48hr - 72 hrs after your phones ship from our Distribution Center. If you do not see the credits by that time, please send us a PM and we will reach out to Microsoft to make certain it does. Thanks again for shopping at Wirefly - hope you enjoy your new EVOs and your bing $$!!!

Cool. Now the REAL test is when they actually ship. The emails lead you to believe that is going to be right around the corner, like a day or two. This first email was simply that Sprint 'approved' the deal. In my case i'm upgrading my phones and extending an existing plan. Plus, i've been with Sprint since 2003. Pretty much a slam dunk for the approval.

I'm praying that my 2 EVO's show up without issues (dust under the glass, light leakage, etc.) so I don't have to deal with returns/exchanges.

Same here. I ordered around 12:30 AM PST. Got Email at 9:03 AM PST saying:

Great News! Your new Sprint HTC EVO 4G has completed processing and is ready to ship. As soon as it passes our Quality Assurance team, we will update our Customer Support website and send you another email so you can track your package directly on the shipper's site.

I did notice when I ordered, it did not have the 2-3 week label over the evo that it has now and when I had checked earlier this morning. Hopefully, it does come next week.

Megan, when do they actually charge the credit card? At approval or at the time of shipping? I believe I read it was at shipping time.

Hi htmlcssguru! You will not actually be charged until your order ships, however the funds may appear to be held until that time.

Megan, thanks for clarification on that. Also, there's something else you might be able to help me with.

As I mentioned, my first order I canceled because of the confusion with the Bing cash back amount and though i'd done something wrong. On both orders, however, I entered a coupon for a 'free' bluetooth. The code was 'wireflyblue11' which was recognized and added to the order. However, in the 2nd order, the 'official' one, it did not display that the bluetooth was included as it did in the first one. Nor did it display in the printed invoice like the first one.

Can you check this and have it added to the 'official' order? I can PM you my order number as well as the original one showing where it did recognize it. Please advise. Thanks!

Of course I can help you with this! PM me your order number and I will make sure you get both bluetooths! or would that make them blueteeth? :)

PM sent with all the details! Thanks!

P.S. It's great actually having a Wirefly person here. Nice touch! The online support at the site is lacking and a bit frustrating. So, kudos to you for paying attention to the needs of people looking for a good experience.

We are here for you! And consider your bluetooth concern addressed...you will get them both.

On the website its says 2-3 weeks for shipping, is this true and how do I port my numbers from AT&T.

Hey iboombastic, please expect to receive your EVO within 2-3 weeks of approval, although it could certainly end up being earlier depending on inventory. When checking out, please follow instructions to switch your carrier to Sprint. Once you receive your EVO, the process to port your AT&T number will proceed automatically.

Question - it says that I should get $80 per phone, including free phones in the Wirefly BCB Faq:

"Will I earn Bing Cashback if the phone price was free at Wirefly?
Yes. When you order a service plan from us, Wirefly's instant discount may drop the price you pay for a phone, laptop, or wireless internet card below $80, but you are still eligible to earn $80 Bing cash back for this purchase."

However, when I add a free Blackberry 8530 it does not show the BCB reward. Does it not apply to free phones w/new service?

The $80 Bing cashback applies to any phone purchased on Wirefly before midnight tonight, the BlackBerry 8530 included. You should see the Bing 4th of July Sale banner at the top of the page. Well I just ordered mine through Wirefly, so let's hope there was no surprises with upgrading just the one line of the family plan (and hope i didn't mess up everyone else's upgrades coming in October!)

Unfortunately I won't be home from Mexico till the end of July to enjoy the beautiful phone you guys are all getting me excited for! Then again...it could just take that long right?

Also since I added it to my cart before 12AM Eastern time do I still get to take advantage of the $80 Bing Cash Back? The internet here in mexico likes to make websites temporarily unavailable for some reason, and just as I was going to Checkout earlier it said the website is temporarily unavailable. Anyone know if that will end up costing me 30 extra dollars?

Hey Corey, if you want to PM me your order number, I'd be happy to check on your Bing casback status.
