Downside to purchasing through Wirefly?

Anyone have any idea when Wirefly might get some more EVOs? If I had the extra cash I'd try going to some Sprint stores in my area, but I don't, so I'm stuck with Wirefly.
 
Belleater, I'm not sure if ordering from a third party makes a difference because if you order online through Sprint they waive it as well, I think its more of a courtesy for the hassle they've put people through waiting for these dam phones.
 
Just cancelled my order. Placed on the 10th. Hopefully that helps you guys out lol.

Somewhat happy it worked out this way. I'll be keeping my Pre and probably getting an B&N Nook for the same price ...opportunity cost

Well I would have to say that wirefly stands behind their word in regards to satisfaction gaurantee as I returned my evo on 06/16/10. Wirefly already has canceled my service for me with sprint and refunded my money. I will definetly do business with them in the future. If you are thinking of not going thru them for the evo from my experience I would have to say buy from them as they gave me no problems returning my product and canceling my service for me which the web site said I would have to do myself.

Did you miss this post? Until they are taking new orders again, I would assume Sprint still won't tell them how many they are getting each week, which means they simply can't answer.

Separately, it's none of my business, but if you don't have the cash that Best Buy is charging for the phone, how will you be able to pay the charges that come with it each month?

It appears that Best Buy got an exclusive on the white model, and that's the only one anybody can get right now.

Personally I've been boycotting BestBuy since they started charging restocking fees for in-store purchases. They seem to think I have no shopping alternatives.
 
Just got my evo today thanks wirefly,the phone is awesome I'm using it right now to make this post. I am not having any backlight issues nor battery and ive been on the net and txting all day,can't wait for 4g in LA this phone kills the iPhone I had one and hated it I hope the Android market continues to get better,well good luck to everyone and i would recommend wirefly although i had some issues my purchase overall is satisfactory.
 
Placed my order on the 6th, still waiting for inventory. I really want to get rid of my Pre, the wait is killing me. I'm waiting until the end of the week and if wirefly doesn't come through I'll cancel and just go the standard route.

I can't believe this still happens for every single hot electronic device. Demand for the EVO should not have surprised Sprint or their suppliers. Learn to stockpile for a couple weeks, THEN release. Don't launch when the first one starts rolling off the assembly line.

As pathetic as Sprint has been with the EVO, I must say I'm glad I'm not in that business. Yes, this does happen for every hot electronic device, but that's the definition of hot. For every one that becomes hot, there's an LG Expo, Nexus One, or Palm Pre that sit unsold on shelves six months after they failed to become the next hot thing.
 
I ordered mine on the 10th as well, have been at the shipping status since the 10th, wirefly hasn't given any straight answers and my local sprint store has them in stock but will not sell to me because they are reserved for new customers...kinda mind boggling as well as makes me wonder. I read that htc is already trying to fix the complaints about the hardware of the evo and maybe that is why sprint isn't able to fill all their orders, anyone know about that?

It's been reported that they can't get the LED screens, which are only made by Samsung, which is also causing production delays with Verizon's HTC DROID Incredible. It was rumored that Apple considered using Samsung AMOLED screens in the new iPhone4, but chose to develop their "Retina" display because they didn't want to rely on Samsung, who couldn't guarantee enough production.

The EVO has a TFT LCD screen, not AMOLED.
 
I am having a miserable experience with wirefly. I tried to order an incredible yesterday and the rep said my credit card was declined. He tried to get me to call my company with him to fix it but i said i would call back with another card. Today I got a call from american express saying that wirefly charged me. When i called wirefly they weren't even able to look up anything because I didn't have an order number. How was i suppose to get it if the order was 'declined'? Just giving you guys a heads up on the trouble I am having with wirefly so you may reconsider where you order your evo from.

Nope! Still approved awaiting inventory 6/9. The silence is killing me, how can a company be in the dark for so long with its supplier? Surely an estimate of delivery should be ascertained and if there is a problem why keep it secret. If short supply is due to the huge demand then why did sprint downplay its sales figures. So many questions and no answers. I patiently waited two weeks but the frustration is beginning to sink in.
 
I've been happy with my experience with Wirefly so far. Been waiting for 2 weeks and today I got a mail that my phone might ship in next few days. I'm upgrading and hope I have no issues.

Don't really mind the wait, everyone else is out of stock too and I'm saving over $100 with Wirefly. I like the fact that they are responsive and their reps reply to posts in forums.
