Root Dreaded insufficient storage space message

Sak01

Android Expert
I was trying to do a few updates from the Play Store and ran into this message.

Quick System Info shows that I've run out of A2SD+ space but I've got tons of internal memory available thanks to DGB.

Should I just shift apps from the Ext partition to internal memory or should I increase the partition (currently 1gb) on my sd card?

Any other ideas aside from deleting apps?

Android thinks your ext partition IS internal memory.

what method are you using to have a2sd+ on DGB?

Android thinks your ext partition IS internal memory.
But isn't it the case the an a2sd enabled ROM automatically installs apps in the ext partition rather than the actual internal memory? I deleted some apps, freeing up a2sd space and it worked.

Here's a QSI screenshot:

notice a2sd has zero free space

what method are you using to have a2sd+ on DGB?
1 Gb Ext 3 partition on my SD card and I flashed Dalvik2ext.

Initially, I left the Dalvik where it was but I remember running out of internal memory and I couldn't be bothered to manually move 'more of the app'(using Ti I think?) to the sd card.

you do realise that dgb isnt a a2sd+ rom. this is why it requires/or recommends to flash the hboots.
the purpose was to move away from ext

im not sure what this script is or where you got it from

also please read the root memory faq. it explains how a2sd+ works.
android sees the ext partition as internal memory but doesnt show its expansion so it doesnt look like its there
QSI shows both

This is script I use. I remember using it with another rom but I can't remember which one

I have flashed the 65mb hboot but like I said I ran out of space straight away when restoring apps. That's why I decided to keep the Ext partition and use the above script.

This solution has worked fine for me till now but I guess the consensus is to get rid of the Ext?

I knew you lot were gonna say that.

221 user apps according to QSI. Quite a few themes tbf.

The next question is do I need all of them. Need? No. Want at my disposal? Yes!

mate you have used up more ext space than internal storage.
you would struggle with an 1gb internal partition like most phones that make sense have.

even if you got rid of ext and went with gb apps 2 sd implementation you would just max out the internal instead.

fact is this, you have too many apps, space is never infinate.
you will have to increase the ext partition but personally, how often if at all do you use half of those apps

I'm not showing you any of my drawers, sunny jim. :)

Long story long, I've got a whole bunch of games for my nephew and nieces most of which I don't even play + I have a more functional phone setup for when I'm working (seasonal) and a more aesthetic one when I'm not, therefore requiring a different set of apps, widgets etc. + I like to tinker with the layout and like to keep what I may need rather than download again + a set of apps for travelling, shopping, productivity, etc etc and it all builds up.

The good news is that I'm at my optimal number of apps, so won't need much more space than I have.

And there I thought I was being modest in how many apps I download lol
