Droid 3 Running Tab On Rumors

yea, i think the guys at my verizon stores are getting tired of me visiting every other day waiting to see if a moto rep came in lol...

has this phone passed FCC yet? i havent read anything on that yet, i know it passed BT.

I don't really care about LTE, but I do NEED a phone with a keyboard.
I bought the Incredible last year, amazing phone but I just miss having a physical keyboard.

Anyway I can grab this without having to pay an ETF?

Buy it off contract at the full retail price. No one knows what that will be yet, but it should be in the $400 - $600 range. You can then sell your Incredible to recoup some of the cost.

If I'm paying for unlimited, I want god damn unlimited.

Not "unlimited until we feel you've used it enough"

It's people like you that make me *glad* tiered is coming. I really don't mind paying for exactly what I use. I'd rather have better network quality with less people completely replacing their home internet connection with their cellphone. I'm to the point that I'm courteous and switch to Wifi whenever it's available. At home I'm on Wifi 100% of the time. I understand that not everyone can get broadband in their home still, but 9 times out of 10 I've found that the people that download over that 5GB magic flagging threshold of data are just too cheap to pay for the home service.

I have WiFi at home, and I too, use that when at home. But I use my phone for tethering when at school, or other public places without WiFi, or even places that have restricted WiFi. At school, just about every useful website is blocked, so if I have to use this to get to them, I will.

As I stated before, if I pay for unlimited, I want unlimited.

Let's not get into this debate yet again for the umpteenth time. It's not even the proper place for it. Let's just talk about how awesome we hope the Droid 3 will be. :)

This is understandable. It's the people that only use cellular and do crap like torrenting over it that piss me off. You have completely legit circumstances to tether in your case.

What are you in high school because I've been to multiple colleges and no sites were blocked so if you are in hs that's only place ive heard of sites being blocked.

I would never torrent while tethering. First off, I'm pretty sure all traffic is easily detectable through cell service, thus being a higher risk of being caught. Second, I would prefer to use my 27Mbps at home, than my 1 to 2Mbps from Verizon... Hahhaa

Yep, high school. Finally done with that though, just graduated yesterday.

Yeah one plus of being in college they don't care what you look at.

Except games. Most of my friends have told me their colleges have blocked the ports that Xbox Live, PSN, and Netflix use... Which sucks. But, I wouldn't tether for that either, shitty speeds for that as well.

I only use tethering at school, and on the rare occasion that our internet at home goes out during storms and I want to check the weather on my laptop.

Some new pictures of the Milestone 3, which should be physically identical to the Droid 3:

Very nice find!

I read through it, and it is revealed to be running 2.3, as well as featuring a Cortex-A9, TI OMAP3320 dual-core, 512 RAM, and a SGX530 GPU.

A lot of people over at droidforums.net are blasting the specs on this phone now that we have some "official" info on it. They are saying the 4" screen and 512mb of RAM (on top of no LTE) make this phone already behind the times. I don't have time to compare phones or keep up with the latest stuff, so does anyone know if these critics have credible complaints about this phone?

People are always going to complain when a phone isn't exactly what they want. So far for me, the lower RAM is the only major disappointment (although we really don't know how much RAM the Droid 3 will end up with, especially if the rumors of it having Webtop are true). It has a state of the art dual-core processor, a high resolution screen (yes, it's pentile, but that's one of those things that some people have problems with and some people don't), a front facing camera, and an improved 8mp camera capable of 1080p video. None of those features are behind the times. It has current stuff. People never really want what's current, they want the next big thing.

So for a 3G phone, it's definitely not behind the times.

you mean besides being the droid 2 with slightly bigger screen and different keyboard?

And a dual-core processor...and a higher resolution (albeit pentile) screen...and an improved 8mp camera with 1080p video...and a front facing camera...and HDMI out.

It's a lot more than a Droid 2 with a bigger screen and different keyboard. Is it looking to be as lust worthy as a lot of people hoped? No, but it's certainly no slouch either.
