Yes. Verizon is arguing because they think that Moto and HTC have better CDMA radios, threatening Samsung almost with choosing the others for flagships.

After all the issues with the fascinate I agree with verizon. I think until samsung proves they improved upon the issues which still seem to be present in the gs2(weak wifi, gps) then I would look to other manufacturers.

The reason for SGSII delay in U.S is only the negotiation on pricing from what I read. Not the technical issues on the device.

Hello everyone I'm from the iphone att. I just left those clowns cause they change my unlimited plan. So now I'm with verizon learning everything I can about verizon, droid Os, rooting and it seems much more.I've read ever post in this thread and the thread droid bionic vs sgs2( galaxy) . My first question is, is the galaxy 2{ sgs II) the hercules EVERYONE is talking about for verizon. If so is this the phone that suppose to come out before the bionic. If not is there a release date for the hercules.

Question 2 if I root my charge, bionic, galaxy ( hercules) can I use pdanet
or another tethering app that will hide my tethering use.

Thank in advance fire the reply

From what I'm reading the hercules is suppose to have a 1.5 ghrz dual core processor. That's major

Welcome to VZW and android.
Hercules is code name for new Samsung dual core android phone for T-mobile, not Verizon. It's not a variant of SGSII as it will have dual core snapdragon. Function is the Verizon variant of SGSII you should be looking at.

Last question what is led notification . I tried to look this up but could find nothing. I see a lot of post here with individuals saying they can't live without led notification. And using a app called called no led. What is this for cell phones wrist does this do. Lastly what is the fuss about the tragra2 and the radio I see a lot of people really wast this feature. Can't everyone just download cbs radio or pandora app and listen to the radio

WOW. what a major let down. is snapdragon processor just as good as this 1.5ghrz processor tragra 2 or eynos

When you get a call (missed call), text message, or email the LED on the upper portion of the front face (on the Droid X) will blink Green to "notify" you that you have just missed a call, received a text, or gotten an email. In this way you are notified without having to actually cut on the screen because the LED light notifies you that you need to check your phone. How this noLED app works is beyond me as I have an LED notification on my Droid X.

Also it will or should blink red to let you now its time to recharge the battery. There was a blue light for something, cant remember now.

I think there are some apps where you can set different colors for different things.

THE BAD:

SGSII doesn't have a notification light! This makes me upset. NoLED app may be used as substitute, but still makes me angry at samsung. Could potentially steer me away. We'll see - again LTE is the #1 deciding factor.

A notification LED should be *required* on any Android phone. I am swaying again to the Bionic. What a coaster ride this has been between two phones!!

Not sure why Hercules is being discussed here. First of all, it's not for Verizon. And it's spec, time frame is even more uncertain than Bionic, SGSII.

Now that makes sense I couldn't understand why everyone kept saying they were waiting for the bionic or galaxy . I thought the galaxy was another phone for verzion. Is there a big difference between the snapdragon processor and the eynos or tegra 2. My mouth was drooling over galaxy for nothing.smh. so is it safe to say now the bionic is the only new phone coming out for verzion that is worth waiting for and getting or is something else on the horizon besides the iphone 5?? Still doing a lot of learning and reading here this is a great site for information. Keep up the good work community

Who says? Where is it said for certain?

Who says it doesn't? You can search for yourself that Verizon variant of SGSII called Function is coming. We just don't know when exactly. Bionic was also in similar situation with no clue on release date, not too long ago.

I have searched many times, and not one article that I could find said for certain that it is coming to Verizon. If you know of one please let me know where it is so i can read it too.

I put noLED on my g/f's Droid Charge. It basically lights up a few pixels and flashes in the corner of the screen to simulate having an LED.

The LED is actually customizable. If you go into the settings of an app that uses the notification LED, you can change the color to whatever you want. Like I use green for email, cyan for texts, blue for missed calls, magenta for IMs, and red for low battery.

I to would like to see the reports of this new phone for verizon called the fuction the galaxy varant. I would like to read the specs on this phone and see if its worth waiting for over the bionic. furthermore arte there any reports out where I can.reed up on this snapdragon processor to compare and see which is better between the 3.

Look at the specs for Samsung Galaxy S2 phones already released in the last few months in markets outside the US. Now speculate that a US Verizon edition may or may not have LTE, may or may not have a different SOC chipset, and may or may not have received a clock speed bump. This phone may be released soon, not soon, or never.

You're asking for specs that nobody outside of Samsung and Verizon knows, and if the phone isn't in final form then maybe they don't know either!

I see this is great work. I look forward to reading this. But as of now for verizon , it looks like the bionic is the best option for a beasty phone. That is until the iphone 5 comes out of that will even be 4g. Only time will tell. I guess for me the best decision will be to still my charge and get the bionic.

Assuming SGSII Function has LTE, it will be interesting to see how battery life plays out with these two phones as they will be first phones of this kind, dual core/LTE. If Bionic has 4.5" qHD, 1.2~1.5Ghz OMAP4, it would be very taxing on battery.
I just wanted to confirm it. Verizon made a similar claim about wireless 3g - that it was unlimited,
